Geratser Wasserfall — Attraction in Rettenberg

We were at this wonderful little waterfall a few days ago with #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet.. It's a little hidden, but visitors come here regularly.

It seems to be an attractive place for both hikers and those who come by car.

For all drivers: when you come up the small incline, there is a small parking lot on the left behind the bend where you can park your car for free.

The waterfall is located on the opposite side of the road in a small hollow, hidden among the trees.

To get a good view of it, it's worth following the signs so that you come face to face with it after a few metres and can take some wonderful photos. There is also a small path that leads you over a bridge along the small stream to the waterfall.

We threw a few branches and pieces of wood into the very calm tributary, which has almost no current.

Despite the rushing of the water through the waterfall, it is a quiet place that is wonderful for relaxing and unwinding, especially in summer. It is also shady and cool due to the trees.

From there, it's not far to the Rottachsee, where you can go hiking, but there's also plenty to do in summer, from swimming to sailing.

Walk or drive past the waterfall, it's worth it!

Der viel angepriesene Geratser Wasserfall. Wir haben uns von den wunderschönen Fotos hier bei Google verleiten lassen diesen Wasserfall zu besuchen. Der Wasserfall ist landschaftlich schön eingebunden. Der Weg, wenn man sich an die örtlichen Informationen hält und nicht verbotenerweise in unmittelbarer Nähe des Wasserfall parkt ist sehr erschwerlich und mit kleinen Kindern oder Kinderwagen schlecht zu laufen. Parkplätze sind in Vorderburg an der Kirche. Dann läuft man Richtung Acker über eine Straße in PRALLER SONNE 🌞Autofahrer rasen teilweise an den Fußgängern vorbei und nehmen keine Rücksicht. Der Weg ist nicht besonders gut beschildert und man muß sehr aufpassen den Abzweig zum Wasserfall nicht zu verpassen. Teilweise geht es über Schotterwege, Kuhfelder die sehr matschig sein können. Es finden sich ein paar Bänke auf den Wegen, allerdings auch nur in der Sonne. Der Weg dorthin befindet sich zu 85% in Sonne. Sonnenschutz nicht vergessen!!!!! 40 min benötigt man, wenn man gut zu Fuß ist von Vorderburg bis zum Wasserfall und NICHT 25 min wie teilweise in anderen Foren erwähnt wird. Endlich angekommen findet man einen kleinen Wasserfall vor. Bei wenig Regen eigentlich nicht unbedingt sehenswert, es sei denn man ist dort zum Urlaub, aber extra hinfahren lohnt nicht. Um solche schönen Fotos, wie hier gezeigt werden zu fotografieren, muss man sich entscheiden: Entweder ich halte mich an die Regeln für den Naturschutz dann sind nur Fotos von oberhalb möglich oder ich gib nix um Naturschutz und Kletter runter in den Wasserfall. Bei wenig Wasser ist oberhalb vom Wasserfall und durch umgefallende Bäume nicht...

Lovely place to visit as part of a hiking. In winter it has its beauty but I think in summer the scenario is diferent and mire collerfull. In winter, due to the possible formation of ice, the path to the waterfall can be very slippery and thus if special careful is needed is there are kids. There is a big parking space for cars, but in winter if there is snow, one cannot see the space very well... Overall a very nice place not...
