Heaven is depicted as a 'gloria', a backlit window surrounded by gilded rays and a crown, with the dove of the Holy Spirit. Mary is lifted up into heaven by angels, while astounded onlookers surround her tomb below. This Late Baroque masterpiece was inspired by the works of Gian Lorenzo Bernini who similarly fused sculpture and architecture in a 'unity of the visual arts'.

Wiederholt haben wir als Ortsverband hier unsere Klausur abgehalten. Im historischen Gebäude und in der Abgeschiedenheit war sie wie immer besonders produktiv. Positiv: + Beeindruckendes historisches Gebäude + Vollbarocke Asamkirche + gut ausgestattete Tagungsräume + sehr freundliche Benediktiner-Mönche + kleiner Klosterladen Neutral: = Lange Gänge = Behinderten gerecht = Ordentliche Küche = Ordentliche Zimmer mit Bad Negativ: - W-Lan nur begrenzt vorhanden Tipp: • die Kirche besuchen • einen der Mönche einfach mal fragen, ob sie einem etwas zum Kloster erzählen können • Besuch des Klosterladens Fazit: Der Besuch der Kirche ist unbedingt zu empfehlen und als Tagungsort für eine Klausur z.B. Verein, Partei oder Firma sehr zu empfehlen.

Eine wunderschöne barocke Klosterkirche, ausgestattet von den Gebrüdern Asam. In der Benediktiner Abtei befindet sich das Johann Nepomuk Gymnasium, eine sehr weit bekannte Schule. Unmittelbar neben der Kirche gibt es das Hotel und Gasthof Sixt, eine Einkehr lohnt sich immer.

War aufgrund eines Seminars dort. Schöner Seminarraum und tolle Anlage mit Kirche etc. in einer ruhigen Ortschaft. Zimmer war einfach eingerichtet, aber in Ordnung. Leider wird hier keine vegane Verpflegung angeboten, was ich (besonders in der heutigen Zeit, in einer christlichen Institution, und weil man sich den Tagungsort nicht selbst aussuchen kann) sehr schade finde, da man sich als vegan lebende Person entweder umständlich etwas mitnehmen oder sich in der Umgebung (z.B. Discounter) etwas...
