Although I'm not sure if a self-guided tour of the castle (there's an app available for download in both English and German) is available on all Saturdays or just the first one of every month (neither the reviews nor the website are clear on that), yesterday we were able to visit both the castle and the museum. We truly enjoyed our visit! The castle's rooms are in good condition, there's plenty of interesting information, and the museum completes the image of the development of the region through the ages, putting in perspective all you learn. About 2 hours are needed to visit both and one should definitely spend a little while in the garden as it is pretty, secluded and well maintained. There's an underground parking right at the castle, but just in case you don't find a spot there's also a spacious one next to...

Visiting Schloss Ratibor in Roth was an unforgettable experience. I didn’t expect much from such a small Bavarian town, but the castle truly surprised me. Many original rooms are preserved, giving a real glimpse into the past. The atmosphere is authentic, elegant, and full of history. Walking through the halls feels like stepping into another century.
