Mooi uitzicht richting Nedersaksen (kasteel Bad Bentheim, Teutoburger Wald, Kerncentrale Lingen, Nordhorn) en Overijssel (Alphatoren Enschede, stuwwal Noord-Oost Twente). De uitzichttoren staat op de meest westelijke uitloper van het Teutoburger Wald. De Isterberg is 68 meter hoog. Met de 35 meter hoogte van de toren erbij wordt de 100 meter bereikt.

Ten oosten van de toren gaat de bewoning vele duizenden jaren terug. De rots wat verder op zou een Germaanse offerplaats zijn geweest voor de Germaanse god...
