Interesting facility in the wood near St.Englmar. The pathway up offers interesting stations describing the altitude you are at and what other famous buildings or places would be at the same altitude. The tower is full of climbing opportunities especially suited for children and also offers two slides to bring you down again to the ground level. One of the slides has slits that offer light inside while the other one is a fully dark tube. The tubes are quite narrow, so getting inside is not particularly easy for adults after a certain age, I would guess. At least it wasn't easy for us. ;)

From the top of the tower you have an amazing view over the surrounding landscape and the Bavarian Forest mountain range.

At the ground level there is also an educational path through the wood, explaining fauna & flora of the Bavarian Forest region.

We visited this place as we had received vouchers from our hotel. Paying for the place would not have been worth it because we feel it's better suited to families with children - but if you have kids that are up to 10 years, this looks like a really nice way to spend an hour or two.

There is free car parking (gravel) for lots and lots of cars, so parking will not...

Spent a day there celebrating our lil one's bday!! He luved it and we all did too...Munich to Sankt Englemar...can be called a day trip...we reached there around 11 and started back around 17pm....the 30 mts. high wooden way between the trees has an awesome view of Bayerischerwald....the resturant is beautifully decorated and located rite at the beginning with a huge indoor play area on top...perfect for babies to bigger kids...the resturant offers a variety of yummilicious vegetarian as well as non veg options...cakes and coffee!!!....outside there are another 2 playareas...a small animal area with alpakas etc...optical illusion route and the upside downhouse....all in all a perfect day trip.

The area around waldwipfelweg is actually full of things to do like roddelbahn and pullman city and many more so best would be book a day or two in bayerischer wald and enjoy the various options or do a trip...

We headed there last weekend and wow, it was truly worth a visit!

You have to sign in to an app before you walk in (and pay an entrance fee; parking, however, is free). There's a reataurant with a nice view (and the fries we had there were really tasty!), and a lot to do and see.

There's a path leading up, and then you can get even higher until you reach the very top and enjoy an absolutely fantastic view! But you can also walk through the forest and read about animals, have a look at some optical illusions, climb a wall, see animals, enjoy a playground and much more. There's also a house that's standing on its roof, but as the number of people being let inside is really limited right now, you better be prepared to wait at least one hour (and you have to pay 2€ extra for that) until you...
