Taunus Wunderland is a charming family amusement park nestled in the scenic Taunus hills near Schlangenbad, about a 30-minute drive from Frankfurt. Established in 1966, it has evolved from a modest fairytale-themed park and mini-zoo into a dynamic leisure destination featuring more than 60 rides and attractions spread across roughly 6 hectares. Known for its nature-inspired setting and focus on young families, Taunus Wunderland offers an engaging and safe environment for children and adults to enjoy a day of fun and adventure.
Attractions and Themed Areas Taunus Wunderland is organized into several themed zones, each inspired by the colorful characters of the “Muckle” family who serve as the park’s mascots. Visitors encounter whimsical villages and adventurous rides designed to stimulate imagination, physical play, and excitement. A highlight is the “Arya’s Dragon Gorge,” a thrilling roller coaster that reopened recently and promises exhilarating twists amidst naturalistic surroundings. The “Gobbi Express,” Hessen’s longest roller coaster at 500 meters, is a family favorite offering breathtaking views of the wooded park.
Thrill-seekers are entertained with attractions like the “Knall + Fall” rock and drop tower, a 17-meter-high multi-motion tower with an exciting free fall, and the “Big Scooter” slide for those craving speed. Families and young children delight in gentler rides, including carousels, a wagon train, a pirate ship, and multiple themed playgrounds. The primeval world area showcases animatronic dinosaurs and prehistoric scenes, captivating curious youngsters and adding educational fun.

Read moreSo I will say right now that I I would love to have given more stars. My son said that this was his favorite thing from the entire summer vacation. My wife and I enjoyed it too, but on a more critical level. We were there on the last Sunday in vacation. I'm sure that all the employees were tired and happy that it was almost over but still, it was technically a vacation day and we paid the same price to enter as everyone else. Many stands and rides were closed, unmanned, or simply badly run. 4 and 5 year olds aren't known to be so patient.... And I really wanted to eat something meaty but there were really only sweets for sale unless you walked the entire park to get something.... And even then it was a teenager with a blank look on their face and noone else there... So everyone was just waiting. And long. This place needs to speak with their personnel because I bet that there are staffing and scheduling grievances. Anyway..... No attendants at many MANY rides mean that we're all supposed to conduct ourselves like normal considerate adults. I can tell you now hat most people are like animals. Inconsiderate is not a word I apply to animals but people should know better. Blocking and reserving places in rides and eating establishments is just the beginning. Really I know that my son had fun but the lack of organization, the long waits and frustration, the options for food being closed all day, and the general dog-eat-dog feeling from the day just colered my experience at Taunus Wunderland. Go for your kids when nothing else appeals.... But don't expect an easy or pleasant day. Again I say... The park is okay, even good. But the lack of management and personnel...
