The Tegelberg cable car was worth it 100%. As the car ascends up the mountain, you can see the forest, neighboring cities and the view of reaching the clouds. My favorite part was the Alpine slide halfway up the mountain, which is also the largest in Switzerland. Totally worth the wait and fun for all in the family. Once at the top, you'll reach a station almost like an airport. It boasts two sides where you may look through the clouds and walk through the mountain. This is where the perfect photos and memories are made. At the end of the tour, you'll take a hillside train that runs down the mountain. Instead of being above the forest at first, you're now going through it. Sites such as snow rocky terrain transforming into a mesmerizing Swiss forest that leads to a massive lake. Best wishes to all that take on this journey!

The men who worked here are extremely unprofessional and rude. They need to be fired immediately. They play games with the guest that go to the top. Our family and another family went to the top and got stranded and had to wait for the next gondola. We were on the bench on top waiting to go down. There was a gate not allowing us to go down. The main was sitting there and saw us waiting. All of a sudden we saw him hustle to the gondola and take off. My mom asked the other man nicely if the gondola just took off. He laughed in her face and said well you needed to scan you ticked to enter and you did not. I approached the man and I said, excuse me. Do you think this is a funny joke? You don't laugh. We have been sitting here waiting for 20 minutes and all rhe man had to do was say something. The man then proceeded to tell me to F$&! You in english. I believe the men think this is a joke to strand the families up there. They did it to 2 families. They think its funny and they should be fired. My grandma is 91 years and needs to be down immediately due to lack oxygen. Maybe I should sue you for this for endangerment of an elderly. You do have camera’s up there and you can see the acts your men have done. Unbelievable. The only 1 star you get is the nice photo I took on my way up. Other than you get negative stars.

We hiked from the Tegelbergbahn top station across the Tegelbergkopf ridge with fantastic views of the castle although very challenging footpath. Hardly anyone (we saw nobody) who approached the castle from this direction. Could not believe the number of people at the castle. There was a queue of 50yds and 3 or4 people wide just to get onto the bridge over the gorge.! We didn't have to queue of course as we approached it from the other direction. We walked down into the gorge to see the amazing waterfall and water Rapids below the castle, from which you can walk back to the Tegelbergbahn lower station. The castle was impressive but way too busy for me but riding the Tegelbergbahn and enjoying the walk to the castle and back was a truly great experience. Visited Aug 2019.

Please note that this is a review of the cable car and not the mountain. It's not the best experience for a 30€ return. As an avid user of ski cable cars, I question the design decision of having just two cable cars going back and forward, instead of a continuous stream of several cable cars, like you have at all the ski resorts. This would make them significantly less crowded and more efficient. However, the way it's made now does make it easy to board, but it's is so crowded that it makes the trip very uncomfortable. Would not recommend if you are claustrophobic or afraid of heights. Might be better to come off season, or trek up the mountain, see last photo for potential routes.

A modern well serviced cable car, the Tegelberg-cable car takes you to a height of 1.730 meters where sunkissed and glistening snow awaits you. Each cabin can accommodate 44 people, the ride to the top takes about approx 10 minutes offering some amazing views of Neuschwanstein Castle and the Ammer Mountains. Due to covid they are not filling the cable cars to the max so there is enough distance between passengers. You also have to show your vaccine pass while booking the ticket. The cable car cost 26 euros for a round trip and one way is 17 euros. There is ample parking available here. You can as well hike up from the cat park.
