Really unfortunate experience I had at this castle.
We were there for a retreat with a group of around 40 people and we had problem after problem. Problems that were met with rude responses from the castle owner.
We had our first issue when we light the fire in one of the rooms that we were not supposed to start, which there was no indication saying we couldn't. The way he responded to it was by basically schooling us and repeating several times that it was his castle and that he should start the fires.
Then we had issues with the ovens that stopped working. The rooms upstairs were very dirty, and there was not enough bedding.
Then we called him to the suite bathroom to check the temperature of the water and I said it was too hot for me, as I can't handle water that hot, and he responded to it saying that it was fine for most human beings.
Lastly, every time he had to talk to the organizer he would do so in a very imposing, and rude manner. He was talking loud towards her on the main hallway and again repeating many times that it was his castle and ending with the question: "do you understand me?". He changed everything about what was agreed upon at first and even threatened to send everyone out.
I would not at all do any event...

It enchants with its rustic charm and offers generous space both indoors and outdoors, allowing for a wide range of possibilities. The surrounding landscape is equally stunning, just a 10-minute walk takes you to the forest and a small lake, and a stroll through the fields can easily end with a relaxing session in the sauna in the cellar. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious, making it ideal for group cooking sessions and shared meals. Communication with Brendan is super easygoing. He’s always quick to respond and helpful during the planning phase. Even if you’re renting the castle with a smaller group, it’s absolutely worth it, the experience is truly...
Read moreBeautiful from the outside, pretty but neglected from the inside. Unusable in colder temperatures, many of our participants had to leave as they could not stand the freezing cold. Kitchen is totally underequipped to prepare meals for larger groups, and you have to drive your trash to a remote facility. Only one bathroom, so again totally not feasible for larger groups. The owners daughter is friendly and helpful, the owner himself is moody, unreliable and downright scary at times. For any bigger events, especially in colder times, stay...
