Hochwildschutzpark Hunsrück — Attraction in Simmern-Rheinböllen

Is a great day trip destination. You can rent at the entrance simple handcarts and there are two round tours with different difficulty, we did the smaller one and it was perfect for us. The road in this one is good enough for a normal baby stroller. Along the paths are playgrounds, picnic areas and benches to rest. We loved the raccoons 🦝 the wolfs 🐺 and the platform to look at them, as well as the areas where the deers were able to roam and approach the visitors. Special food for the deer, goat and ducks can be bought in dispensers for 2€ And almost at the end of the tour you find a container to buy food and drinks with tables and sunshades, a big playground and a big sandbox with view of the lake. We loved it and will visit again...

Der Tierpark Rheinböllen ist ein wahres Juwel im Hunsrück und bietet ein unvergessliches Erlebnis für die ganze Familie. Auf rund 76 Hektar erstreckt sich der Park, eingebettet in eine idyllische Landschaft aus Wäldern, Weihern und Wiesen .

Besonders beeindruckend ist die Vielfalt der Tiere: Über 35 Arten, darunter Kanadische Wölfe, Erdmännchen, Zwergotter und Bennett-Kängurus, sind hier beheimatet. Viele Tiere, wie Rehe, Damhirsche und Muffelwild, bewegen sich frei im Park und kommen den Besuchern erstaunlich nahe – ein Highlight für Groß und Klein. Das Füttern ist mit dem dort erhältlichen Futter erlaubt und wird durch ein Ampelsystem geregelt, das anzeigt, welche Tiere gefüttert werden dürfen .

Die Wege im Park sind gut ausgebaut und größtenteils barrierefrei, sodass auch Rollstuhlfahrer und Kinderwagen problemlos unterwegs sind. Für die kleinen Gäste gibt es mehrere Spielplätze, darunter ein neu gestalteter naturnaher Spielplatz mit Holzspielgeräten und Hackschnitzelboden . Zudem lädt ein Waldbistro mit regionalen Leckereien und ein Seekiosk zum Verweilen ein .

Ein besonderes Angebot ist die Tierparkschule, die 2020 gegründet wurde und Kindern und Jugendlichen durch Workshops und Ferienprogramme spielerisch Wissen über Tiere und Naturschutz vermittelt . Auch eine Baumpatenschaft ist möglich, um aktiv zum Erhalt der Flora im Park beizutragen .

Der Eintrittspreis ist mit 13 € für Erwachsene und 7 € für Kinder ab 4 Jahren angemessen. Besonders attraktiv ist der Familientag am Mittwoch, an dem ein Kind in Begleitung eines Erwachsenen kostenfrei ist .

Alles in allem ist der Tierpark Rheinböllen ein liebevoll geführtes Ausflugsziel, das Natur, Tiere und Erholung perfekt miteinander vereint. Ein Besuch lohnt sich zu jeder Jahreszeit – wir kommen...

A nice variety of wild animals. Unique red eyed white wolves, white sheeps, huge mighty Bison, cute Llama's and many more. Live experience of white wolves howling away was pretty exciting. Touching and feeding the animals is a wonderful experience for kids and adults alike. Although, not every animal can be touched and fed, so keep an eye on the instructions board for each.

Not advisable to go on a rainy day. The park has mud path, hence best when dry. If wet with rains the previous day, make sure to go in your raincoats and gumboots.
