You arrive there and you can park your car. You walk past a shop and toilets, sadly they were both closed today for some reason. At the restaurant you buy your ticket and you can also buy snacks (like bradwurst) sadly this also was closed today and could only order coffee/tea. The restaurant does look lovely from outside and in, with carved woodwork. The ticket is 13 euro per adult, which I think is quite fair, since you are supporting the wildlife that is expensive to take care of. You could ofcourse go to a zoo and spend only a few euros more and see a great assortment of species, it would not have the same charm and righteousness. Anyway, you then follow the rundweg along the habitats. Im glad to say we got to see all three species they have (bears, wolves, lynxes). It is well worth to read up on their history and such, its very interesting and you get to see their personalities. The park isnt very big and you can walk through quite quickly. That is all to say it is...
Read moreA really beautiful place and a really big space for the animals to roam. There is a lot of presented information for the bears and a lot of interesting facts to read along the path. We didn’t see any animals in the first half of our walk, but this didn’t bother us as we know that the money spend for the entrance would play a big part of taking care of them. But walking slowly and paying close attention- we saw every inhabitant of the Bear Park.Thats why I want to point out for everyone going there- this is not a zoo. This is a sanctuary. The space is huge, so the animals can feel as free as possible and roam as much as they can. If you go there with kids, make sure to take your time walking the path, be quiet, don’t disturb the animals and you will be rewarded. I would recommend going there earlier or in the late afternoon. Huge thank to all the people working there and taking care of this beautiful creatures. Was an amazing...

Again, it's been a wonderful visit today ❤️ Since it was a beautiful, sunny day there were more visitors than during our visit last year. However, still pleasant. I love this place!
—————————— October 2022 : As a first time visitor and having observed bears and wolves in their natural habitat in the USA I was very pleasantly surprised with the complete sanctuary for these utterly beautiful creatures! ❤️👌🐻🐺 They have lots of outdoor space, set amidst the nature of the Black Forest; a river running through etc. Of course one may say such animals do not belong in captivity which is correct. However, let's not forget these animals here were "rescued" and have been given the very best 2nd home they can get! Many thanks to everyone for taking such good care of our natural beauties! ❤️ I highly recommend visiting this sanctuary and please be so kind to...
