Visited this place a few times in the late"80s and early"90s back when the Canadians still had a base in Lahr. Loved it. I brought my bagpipes one night, and a couple friends and myself climbed to the top in total darkness. I played my pipes for a few minutes and was surprised when I stopped there were people in the courtyard below applauding. I had no idea where they came from, but it was awesome. One of the people invited us to his place a couple minutes away for a beer. I haven't been back to Germany since, but would love to go back and visit this...

You can hike here or drive to the bottom and walk up. This is a nice visit and bit of history. Access is up a hill the elevation is steep so come prepared. At the very bottom is a nice cafe open till 6pm which I would recommend. The castle itself is free and you can walk to the top via a narrow staircase. Keep an eye on the weather if visiting as you are exposed. There is free parking and even if you don't walk up to the top it's worth visiting for the view. I...

Beautiful countryside trip - not for the faint of heart. The road up to the mountain is well paved but very curvy, one way and without road barriers. I left my car at the Beck's guest house and walked. The views are beautiful. My luck in Feb. it was 16 degrees - a spectacular day filled with sunshine nature and clean air. Take along a picnic and enjoy.

…during our holidays we hiked through the woods and visited this spot. Nice to be there. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 the shop at the place was closed, otherwise a nice place to have some drinks there too. The ruins are in good shape and are maintained to German standards… One can also drive to the car parking station located very near.
