Tudoburg — Attraction in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Stockach

The ruins of this spur castle, perched on a hill at an elevation of 615.8 meters, offer a glimpse into the medieval history of the region. The castle's strategic location on a promontory made it a formidable defensive structure, with deep ditches and steep slopes providing natural protection. Over the centuries, the castle changed hands several times, coming under the control of various noble families, including the Lords of Hewen, the Counts of Lupfen-Stühlingen, and the Counts of Pappenheim.

Despite its historical significance, the Tudoburg fell into ruin before the Thirty Years' War and was already uninhabited by 1563. Today, visitors can explore the remains of the castle, including the large outer bailey and the main castle, which are surrounded by lush forest and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Even if you choose the official parking lot as a start, wear good shoes and watch your steps as soon as the path goes down the hill. No public toilet, not suitable...

Wir sind von Lochmühle rechts den Weg gegangen. Sehr schön, auch für nicht Wanderer. Ein Schild weist den Weg zu den Ruinen. "500"m - Wer es glaubt. Der Weg geht nur bergauf. Oben angekommen sieht man erst mal" Nichts". Einen kleinen Hügel hoch schaut man in einen kleinen Krater mit einem Stuhl. 😭 Ein paar Meter weiter ist eine große Wiese mit Bänken und Grillplatz. An dem Punkt ist nur die Stimmung ruiniert. Wenn man nun die wiese entlang geht, führt ein kleiner Weg nach links. Dann erst steil nach unten und anschließend stell nach oben und hurra man steht...

Ich finde das ist ein kleiner Geheimtipp. Von der Burg sind noch ein paar Mauerreste, einige Gräben und eine große Mauer erhalten. Die große Wiese vor der Burg war früher ebenfalls bebaut. Dort findet sich auch ein...
