German steam locomotive and Model Railway Museum — Attraction in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Tuttlingen

We travelled from england to visit museum and we're not disappointed met owner who was very friendly, loads of locomotives to see and photograph and unlike some other museums nothing was off limits.I know A lot of the locomotives are in unrestored condition but better like that than scrapped.having helped to restore a steam locomotive in england now running in north Yorkshire I know how very expensive it is to restore one locomotive never mind over twenty.Hope to visit again next time I am in the area.If anyone is the area it is well...

The abandoned trains were so beautiful! If you like urbexing, this place is good because you're not doing something illegal. You can just hop on and off the trains. The only down side is that the lady on the counter said that we had to pay 35 eur extra to get our video camera in. While you make footage of the same quality with a camera on your phone, felt a bit scammy. When we went, there was maintenance, so there was a lot noises, but it could still be enjoyable. Nun gut, was soll ich sagen... Nach unserem Besuch hinterblieben gemischte Gefühle. Man darf sich tatsächlich einfach nicht zu viel erwarten. Es sind wirklich sehr viele tolle, alte Dampfloks zum anschauen und anfassen, teilweise sogar zum hochklettern und einsteigen da. Leider sind viele Loks derart zusammen gerostet und ungepflegt, dass es einem auch als Nicht - Kenner im Herzen um die tollen Exponate leid tut. Da wir mit Kindern zu Besuch waren, wurde uns vom Begehen der Loks aufgrund der großen Einsturzgefahr abgeraten. Wege zu den Loks gibt es keine, man muss über (nicht gemähte) Wiese und Steine laufen. Also nichts für Kinderwagen oder Rollstühle. Leider steht auch an keiner Lok etwas zur Geschichte, Personal war außer dem Kassierer keines vor Ort welches man hätte befragen können. Der Eintritt kostet pro Person 8 EUR, was für diese Leistung ziemlich happig ist. Fazit : Einerseits schätze ich es sehr, dass jemand das Geld und die Mühe auf sich nimmt, um diese Zeitzeugen zu "erhalten". Andererseits fragt man sich auch, was mit dem Geld für Eintritt und Co. passiert - jedenfalls wird es nicht für die Erhaltung der Loks investiert, so viel ist sicher. Ich kann leider keine Empfehlung für einen Besuch abgeben. 3 Sterne dennoch für "Geschichte zum anfassen" und die Hingabe des Kassierers, der uns bei der Verabschiedung wenigstens noch ein paar Hintergrundinformationen zukommen...
