Unteres Schloss Vellberg — Attraction in Verwaltungsverband Ilshofen-Vellberg

Smallish old castle village perched on the side of a hill with big stone walls. Some of the walls you can freely walk inside. Once a year they have an excellent wine festival in the middle of summer where all the locals come out and celebrate . Worth a walk around and there is a nice restaurant where you can try some local food. There is a good viewing spot that looks out over the local swimming pool at the bottom of the hill. If you have time check it out from across the valley, it makes a great picture in summer and an even better picture in winter if it has been snowing. Very cool place! So old! Keep in mind the actual castle is used or lived in so you can walk around the perimeter and the walls but the actual castle is private. Still...

Auf den Mauern der alten Burg gebaute zwei Gebäude, als unteres Schloss bezeichnet. Von der Siedlung durch einen Halsgraben getrenntes Gebiet, beim Besuch merkt man dies aber kaum. Schloss bei mir leider zu, kein Öffnungszeiten angegeben, kein Infos über Geschichte oder Grundrissplan vorhanden.
