I give two stars instead of one because the clock mechanism is impressive.

However, the rest of the experience was quite negative:

You pay 3 euros into an old slot machine. For that you need to walk back into the tourist shop to get coins. (They obviously want you to buy something there).

Inside rhe museum you then have to put in another coin if you want to get a short audio explanation.

From the outside the display is also not greatv The bird only exits a little bit and you have dozens of people trying to film the rather underwhelming show.

Lastly there are 2 pendulums. They are not synchronised between them and don't seem to have a logical period like one per 2 seconds or the like either.

I think the hole "world's biggest clock' is just a marketing effort to attract people to get to their tourist shop ... and I think it works for them.

Really a tourist...

I visited this one looking for the famous "largest cuckoo clock" close to the city of Triberg. It turns out, that there are two! And apparently the most famous one is "Erste weltgrößte Kuckucksuhr"... well ok, I didn't know.

Regarding this one, it's really big and impressive but a bit dull, and the "performance" at the o'clock times was rather disappointing. It was just the bird appearing and tweeting a bit...

To see the clock inside you have to pay a 2€ fee, which is a symbolic and fair quantity in my opinion. But, I have to lower my rating stars because once you are inside, you are asked to pay another 1€ to reproduce a 5 min audio explanation about the clock. What?! I didn't bring more money with me, but in any case I don't think that was fair. Being inside the cuckoo was cool for us.

I hope this is...

I visited Triburg with the main purpose of buying a cuckoo clock. I didn't plan on going inside, but just stopped by to see the large cuckoo clock outside. I had already purchased the cuckoo clock. I didn't know that they sell cuckoo clocks here, but there was a store, so I went in. Oh my... The price difference was more than 100 euros compared to the product I had already purchased. We discussed how to solve this problem and decided to refund the purchased product and buy it here. We bought it for ourselves as well as for gifts, so the price difference was big. The condition of the items were the same. After this, I went to the city store where it is sold, compared prices, but this...
