This, I can say is yet another great waterfalls hidden in the schwarzwald. Though the approach road was narrow with very few signs along the way, the hike to falls is superb. I would call it moderately difficult (for the occasionally active ones) to reach the top of the mountain winding through thick foliage and rocks. There was a lot of water during this May 2021 and I would encourage everyone to visit. For the little more daring, there are a few places where you can go really close to falls to get a great shower of cool water all over ( I enjoyed it a lot getting fully drenched).

Rather impressive waterfalls in the middle of the Black Forest. The trail is mildly challenging, so solid hiking boots are a must. There is a nice resting place at the foot of the main trail with a wooden beverage depot that works by trust alone; you take a bottle and place your coins in a box. Refreshing to see that it seems to work nicely. It is not really a loop trail unless you are prepared to hike long distance - or someone picks you up elsewhere. As you walk through the dense forest, you have hardly any view of the surrounding landscape; but it is a fine trail.

Isolated and wild waterfall up on a steep slope in a magical forest. Narrow little road to a parking at the base of a valley, fairly fast accent up a forest road to a rest place and hut, then a short and very rocky trail up the the falls. I'd recommend doing hike as a loop. Going up past the falls, and up to very top of hill, and back down via another waterfall. Bit challenging for little kids, rocks and leaves slippery at times and the metal bridge at top can be lethal with the wrong type of rubber soles.

Eine Wanderung mit vielen Highlights. Und viele Einstiegsmöglichkeiten. Wo man unbedingt dran denken sollte, festes Wanderschuhwerk. Von den Hirschbach Wasserfällen runter zu dem Zweribach Wasserfall ist es ziemlich "unebenen "und eine kleine Herausforderung. Unser Start und Zielpunkt war der Wanderparkplatz Hirschmattenweg. Ein schattiger Platz. Von hier ging es etwa 200m links Richtung St. Peter/ Wegweiser Vorderwillmen und dann den Schildern zur Kapfenkapelle folgen. An der Vogesen Kapelle weiter Rotes Kreuz zur Kapfenkapelle. Zurück zum Rotenkreuz und der blauen, dann der gelben Route folgen zu den Hirschbach Fällen. Auf dem Weg dorthin gibt es noch den Hohwartsfelsen. Bietet einen super Ausblick, ist aber nicht ganz einfach zu erklettern. Durch den Bannwald bergab Richtung Brunnehof. Hier hat man die Möglichkeit sich ausgiebig zu erholen. Viele Sitzmöglichkeiten mit Tisch für eine Vesper. Von hier geht es weiter zu den Zweribachfällen. Von den Wasserfällen geht es links hoch. Nach etwa 300m den Wald verlassen und dem Wegweiser "Platte" folgen. Ab hier ist der Weg asphaltiert. Am Plattenhof angekommen hat man hier die Möglichkeit einzukehren. MO und DI sind Ruhetag. Weiter geht es über den Schönhof zurück zum Wanderparkplatz. Allen Wandersleuten viel Spaß . Die Tour ist gigantisch schön, da vergisst man schnell die Anstrengungen .

A stunning waterfall at the end of a moderate hike. We went during the fall season and it was spectacular. The only thing we struggled a bit was finding a recommendation on where to park on the internet. Having experienced that, I would recommend looking for Potsdamer platz (a longer but worthwhile stroll) or wanderparkplatz (beware since the GPS might take you through closed roads).

Mit Kindern ab 6 Jahre und Führung ein Besuch mit Familie möglich. Altersobergrenze würd ich sagen 60 jahre da es sehr anstrengend sein kann. Sehr unwegsames gelände, viele Baumwurzeln und teils Geröll an steilen Hängen machen es notwendig unterstützt zu werden und kleinere Pausen einzulegen. Am besten kommt man von Oben über den Plattenhof den man an der Ortseinfahrt von St. Peter von St. Märgen aus kommend erreicht. Parken ist leider nur bedingt möglich. Hinter dem befahrbaren Privatweg wo das Waldstück beginnt passen höchstens 3 oder 4 Autos. Von hier aus sinds ca 15 bis 25 minuten zu Fuß. Liegt im Schatten meistens und zu bestimmten Jahreszeiten kann es beim Verweilen etwas kühl werden, gerade nach dem etwas anstrengenden Abstieg und wenn man etwas verschwitzt ist. Führ jüngere Familien auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen und ältere fitte Menschen.
