Liepnitzsee is an incredible place to reconnect with nature — truly one of the most beautiful lakes near Berlin. We had an amazing time hiking around it, with peaceful, well-maintained trails winding through a dense, scenic forest. The views of the crystal-clear water are breathtaking, and the entire area feels like a calming escape from everyday life. We especially loved the small island in the middle of the lake, which you can reach by ferry or even swim to in warmer weather.
One important note: like many natural forest areas, there are typical forest dangers such as dead wood, falling trees, and broken branches, especially after storms — so staying alert while hiking is wise. Read moreA magnificent lake, so clean and peaceful. You can arrive on a train or in a car at the forest entrance, but then you need to walk or use a bicycle to arrive at the lake.
For a swim, I recommend arriving in summer or one day in good weather because the lake is so cold in spring, but it's another good experience to swim in cold water (and therapeutic).
Also, you can take a picnic after swimming, drink something and listen to music. But remember, PLEASE DONT LEAVE TRASH, don't forget is beautiful because is CLEAN, and nature lives in perfect harmony when we care don't leave...
