Mainz-Kastel Zoo — Attraction in Wiesbaden

A great day out to reconnect with nature and wildlife. 🌟

As much as it's not a massive place with a large array of animals, the small and rather homely nature of the zoo was quite endearing. I saw goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turtles, fish, bunnies, ferrets, bees, and a pony (Or a horse, I'm not sure 😅)

We walked the grounds from top to bottom, which can be covered rather quickly, but if you take time to enjoy each enclosure you can easily spend 1-2 hours without realising. There were some scenic areas, particularly down by the fish pond that I particularly enjoyed. I also enjoyed feeding the goats, which costs 1 Euro for each bag of feed, but just get ready for a sticky hand when the goats lick it. 😂

Ich finde der Tierpark in Kastel ist ein super Projekt ,mir gefällt das lockere Konzept. Jeder darf mithelfen und dafür sorgen das es den Tieren gut geht. Der Tierpark ist außerdem eine Anlaufstelle für Tiere die jetzt ein Tiergerechteres Leben haben. Sie werden mit sehr viel Liebe aufgepäppelt. Jeder zeigt hier großen Einsatz und das alles zum Nulltarif. Es gibt hier einige Rezzessionen die ohne Nachdenken abgegeben worden sind. In dem Tierpark steckt viel Herzblut und Arbeit, die täglich ehrenamtlich ohne Murren teils nach der eigentlichen Arbeit noch erledigt wird. Es wird immer an irgendeiner Stelle vorangeschritten und Verbesserungen vorgenommen, aber die Tiere und der Spaß an der Arbeit sollte nicht vergessen bleiben um das tolle Projekt weiterführen zu können. Es wird immer Menschen geben, die einfach schreiben, find ich alles doof, aber aufzustehen und mit irgendeiner Art zu Unterstützen das ist Sinnvoller und zeigt Charakter.
