Leninstadt should not be confused with the gated and locked Haus der Offiziere which lies northeast of this location. This location is just a collection of old and completely abandoned buildings. It does not include the Lenin statue, pool house, grand staircase, or other beautiful pictures posted here. Those are all part of Haus der Offiziere and you MUST contact the caretaker there beforehand to be let in.

This collection of buildings, however is excellent to explore. Over-grown, dilapidated,...

An absolutely fantastic place hiding the forgotten history of East Germany! I wish I had researched a bit more about Zossen, Wunsdorf, Rangsdorf etc, which were the virtual brains of East Germany during the Cold War. This place has an amazing architecture! Perfect for pictures! I booked a tour with buecherstadt it was in German for 2hs and it’s was fantastic. Check it out their page for tour dates (Lenin tour) and email to reserve a spot. It was only €15 paid in cash at the gate close to the house of officers. There are other companies that take you there such as go2know and fototouren-berlin their tour is longer but much more expensive! Highly recommended!!
