I had always heard of "Cultural Centre" back in uni, but I didn't know what a treasure this place is. Covering several acres of land, the Centre for National Culture is a place open to the public for its various offerings. The centre hosts a national archive facility and various offices for government agencies in the areas of culture, tourism and local government. This place also hosts the Prempeh II Museum. Towards the back of the centre are craftsmen making and selling woodwork, paintings, pottery, kente, batik, baskets and a whole lot more. There is an open-air amphitheatre that definitely needs maintenance and a face-lift. There are at least two restaurants available. There is also a public library with a children's section, lending section and a reference section. Aside everything you can do here in terms of touring and shopping, this is an ideal place to go to and relax and breathe in some fresh air to reconnect with nature, especially if you live in and around Kumasi Central. No renovations....but if you want to know about Ashanti culture it's a good place to go . it has a library. Personally I haven't been to the library so I can't really rate it.you can also find the Kentish kitchen for your local dishes and the famous Ike's cafe and grill...one of the best restaurants in kumasi plus the Ike's cultural village. The center for national culture also has a number of galleries where you can find pieces of art...being it painting, musical instruments,clothing etc. ..
