Bunso Eco Park is located in Nsutem off the Suhum Kumasi road. The park is one of the emerging family fun parks in the country alongside the likes of Legon Botanical Garden and Aburi Garden. The park has many fun and age-appropriate activities for everyone. The drive was a smooth one from Accra to Bunso. For a 2-hour drive, you get to appreciate the boulevard and with a good eye, you can catch a Gimple of some town names like ‘Obretema, kyekyewere, Densusu, Apedwa, and Kyebi. BUNSO ECO PARK, ZIPLINE IN A BEAUTIFUL FOREST RESERVE The Bunso Eco Park is a beautiful 40-acre forest reserve with many tree species, and a herb garden and if you are lucky you get to see some butterflies. Below are some activities at the park
The first was the tree-top canopy walk. I thought I was prepared to walk on the canopy; after all, I have walked on that of Kakum and Legon Botanical Gardens. However, little did I know that one should never be overconfident as the dynamics are never the same. I was petrified as the ascend began on the stairs to the canopy itself, thankfully the tour guide was there to give me all the encouragement I needed to get on it. Compared to Kakum, it was not windy to cause the canopy to move so I felt calm. It is a 5-level tree top walk with the third level caved in, which meant I had to take steady steps.
Next on the list was the zipline, my first experience on a zipline was in 2019 at the now closed down Air Jays at Kwahu. That was my first experience in the air, it was thrilling. For someone who fears heights, I was quite excited as I climbed onto the platform. I was securely strapped and set to go. As I was being encouraged to move, I saw many people on the ground watching me. I got a little nervous and silently prayed they all move to other activities. The zipline attendant appeared to be losing his patience and looked at me puzzled, after contemplating on getting off or going ahead I chose the latter and asked him to push me and off I went. I remember screaming throughout the ride and everyone on the ground kept laughing, it was a nice experience. Afterwards, we decided to move to the car park and munch on our now cold kebab. We bought them in the morning at Linda Dor restaurant. It was still spicy so I did not mind the change in temperature. BUNSO ECO PARK, ZIPLINE IN A BEAUTIFUL...
Read moreIt's very difficult to attribute 5 stars to a location , but let me tell you'll something, hype the place , hype the place and HYPE THE PLACE( LOL , IM NOT SHOUTING) I realises my dream today (accomplishing what I plan to do) lol , since a while I was planning to go there but laziness is something and so on. I took no time and did not think , I got on a bus ( not vvip nor stc) , the trotros , I wanted to enjoy the road and also have a closer look at the pokuasi interchange. I started my journey from achimota to Nsawam to asofa to bunso to the eco Park, it cost me less than 30 cedis , yes , something unbelievable yes , less than 30 cedis instead bolt or uber was affording the trip at more than 160, lol for what ?! I enjoyed being sat inside trotro and taking pictures and then I arrived at the eco Park, let me tell yall, the place is amazing , it's not about foreign standards but the effort they put for the Park, I'm crying, I enjoyed my self totally. With the entrance fee at 5 cedis , oh c'mon it's cheap, the various prices might surprise you , I, being a foreigner, know what it is to say something is cheap. I did my canopy (Damn , sorry for the big word , but despite being used to it , theirs is very high but you will enjoy, its like taking a flight and having turbulences 🤣🤣🤣) The zip line was my favorite part coz , from the moment I started counting I was already on the line shouting like a lil pig 🐖. Overall, I spent such a beautifull day and I even had the Park for me because I went there early and i didn't want to catch cruise with others ah aha ah. Shootout to the staff , they are amazing , forget to ask all their names but my Gs , blaise and Dieudonné also speaking French, abegh when you reach the place , they very cool guys. It might be a little bit difficult to reach the Park while not having a car or if you have to order a bolt , but if you are in group , try to manage something and GO THERE, YOU WILL ENJOY their various activities. I ENJOYED MYSELF , I REPEAT. Shootout to such a beautiful and...
Read moreThis Eco park is a great creative idea. It blends an arboretum (a place where plants are cultivated, nurtured and preserved for medicinal, ornamental or other purposes) and nature tourism. It's a great place to have a family excursion. They have the oldest and hardest tree in the whole of Africa- the African oak tree there. The guide tells the story of this tree laced with its historic significance in the lives of our fore fathers. It has many other plants that are native to Ghana and other places in the world like in the Amazon forest. They have some amazing plants I had never seen nor heard of- wonders of nature....wow... like the monkey pot. They have seedlings of plants there that you can buy and grow the plants of your choice in your backyard. As far as tourism goes, they have the canopy walk way which is well secured for your safety and hangs over the trees. It has 6 bridges, about 375m long and 35m high. Loosen up with the adult swing and the zipline while you scream like a child 😂. You can also do the forest hike, nature tour and horse riding. All their activities have well trained and courteous guides who take you through your activities of preference. The prices of their activities are extremely modest for every pocket. They have clean washrooms for your lavatory needs. Kudos to the brains and managers of this eco park. I will...
