The Road Network needs to be improved, Drainage systems also needs to be constructed to reduce Perennial flooding. The undeveloped Old Winneba Road(currently being encroached) which runs through the South side of the Densu Delta protected area and Glefe township would be a very great alternative to the Accra-Kasoa-Winneba road.
I strongly recommend that the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly and the MP take a look at the Glefe township and do the needful as soon as possible. A hard and firm stand against the unapproved buildings should be made clear.
Sea Defense Project currently underway however Encroachers are still building on the beaches. A Demolition exercise should be held as soon as possible to help improve the road network and safety of the inhabitants. Any fire outbreak could be a disaster.
Be mindful, Floodings are a typical occurance as the drainage is poor and buildings have been put up...
Read moreI lived near the Densu Wetlands till my 26th birthday. I grew up fishing and trapping rodents and crabs there. It's easily visible on google map as it covers a broad area including Weija, Sakaman, Dansoman SSNIT Flats, Dansoman Estates, Tunga, Petroleum and Ebenezer Down. It stretches out to a place we loved to call Last Bridge. A company called Pambros managed their salponds at this site so well that after many years you can still see remnants of their many saltponds and black silos. I still have this nostalgic feeling whenever memories of this vast lands come rushing...
