I booked this hotel because it was very cheap but regretted it after my stay. The place has the potential to be nice but there are several factors I didn't care for. First it is very hard to find. I arrived with family who knew the area, but when I tried to get back in a taxi they had trouble finding it each time even after my brother gave them directions. We had to call the hotel repeatedly to get directions and even then it was difficult for him to find. Getting a taxi from the hotel requires quite a bit of walking since it is several blocks away from a main roadway. The first room I was given looked very dingy and there was dried blood on the sheet. I asked for new sheets and the receptionist couldn't find any. He asked to know how much I had paid for my room then said he couldn't move me because he didn't have more rooms in that category and would have to charge me more for a better room. I told him it wasn't my fault that he didn't have clean sheets and that I wasn't paying for a better room when he couldn't deliver a clean version of what I had already paid for. He really didn't want to move me but eventually he did. I ended up in a different building (the place is quite large). The room was much nicer but the wifi network is bad if you aren't in the main building and I wasted quite a bit of data before realizing this. The breakfast included with the room was quite nice , but I definitely won't be staying...
Read moreWe stayed here for one week to do some work at the university. The Rooms were clean. Friendly staff. We traveled four people together. Two of us had three different rooms, due to the toilet not working and then the AC not working. If you want a more local hotel this would be perfect. They run on Ghana time and don't have the same service as a more touristy hotel would have. For example, they call you in the morning to say the breakfast is ready, even though you said you wanted it an hour later, and ask about why you are here and what you talk to people about. But the place has charm and is nicely located by the University. It is a quiet neighborhood and is right next to rally's which became our favorite restaurant. The one night we ate there they only had one thing available, it came slowly but was really good, and a big portion too. The transportation they offer is expensive and you would save a lot on just taking a cab on the street, even though you'll have to bargain. All in all a nice place and the staff was really friendly and is more authentic than the big...
Read moreI stayed here for a week while I prepared for an artist residency in Akwidaa. ||The restaurant is great, the rooms are clean and safe. AC works, bathroom is clean. Very close to University of Ghana, no mosquitoes in the rooms. ||The staff were all amazing. Rashid in particular helped me navigate Accra, the customs, taxi negotiations and even how to get to Takoradi. The staff are trustworthy, protecting, funny and intellectual as many of them are university students. ||I waved to the owner as he was dealing with an inspection at the time but I want him to know everyone from the front desk staff to the chef at the restaurant were exceptional. On my last night they made me fufu and light soup, made me so happy! ||Thank you, I will be back...
