I was here on Nkrumah's Day (21st September) and we met some young men, one of whom led us in. However the guide/caretaker wasn't around, so we couldn't do a tour. The place hasn't been well kept like other forts/castles along the western coast and it doesn't look like the place has much to offer. However you're able to get good views of the sea, the Kar Power generation plant, the Sekondi fishing harbour, the naval base and the old township (European Town) from the top floor...

I have really enjoyed visiting Fort Orange, the fishing port and the lighthouse, in Takoradi. The people who are selling fish in the harbor have been very nice. Later, I went to the lighthouse and there a boy explained to me some things related to the lighthouse, he was very kind. The views from there are a real beauty. Thank...
