Aetos Beach is an absolute favourite of mine. I take the hiking option and avoid visiting during the tourist rush over the summer months whereby visitors come by boat either to be dropped off on a day trip or yachts lazing around relatively close to the shoreline. This isolated, not so big paradise is best visited by foot as the 1 hour walk from Papouri involves trekking through a lush landscape and breathtaking scenery. Decent footwear is required if one chooses to hike as is a decent snack and water. There is only one unsubstantial tree to sit under, unfortunately, making this destination for those who really want to experience the authentic Cyclades...rugged, rocky, and pure. Be sure to take your rubbish home with you....no one arrives to clean up after us, so please, make it YOUR responsibility to take home...
