Kimisi Beach — Attraction in Aegean

Come here for the short hike to the Koimisi chapel (approx. 1km of uphill hiking), which offers some amazing views of the Aegean sea towards Patmos and Ikaria. Do early morning or late afternoon, take water with you and light a candle at the chapel :) on the way back, sweaty as you'll be, jump on the water at the Koimisi beach and enjoy one of the more secluded spots of the island. Stunning beach with tortuous road. If hiking , hike early and allow plenty of time and bring water. If driving , brace yourself for very steep roads. Motorbikes, please make sure you know what you are doing...this should not be your 1st time on a motorcycle. The church and graveyard at the crest of the pass is beautiful. The waters are gorgeous and it's super tranquil. Bring snorkeling...

The water here is gorgeous and swimming is great. Large pebble beach, virtually no shade on the actual beach, although there are groves of trees nearby. Goats! You can hike here, scooter or car, although the road down from the ridge is very steep. Parking is available at the end of the road. No services. There is a small chapel nearby and the church of the Dormition is an uphill hike...
