Mandrakia Village – Quick Stop for Photos, Not Much Else A tiny fishing village that's great for a quick photo stop – and that’s about it. The area is quaint and picturesque in parts, particularly near the creek where the wires are located. It's definitely Instagram-worthy, but not somewhere to linger for long. Important note if you're driving: Be very cautious on the way down. The road has blind, single-lane corners with no safety barriers – not for the faint of heart. The exact spot marked as "Mandrakia Beach" is misleading. It's not really a beach – more like a rocky patch less than 10 meters long, littered with stones and unfortunately quite a bit of rubbish (plastic, debris, etc.). Despite this, some people were swimming there, but I wouldn't recommend it. There is a nearby taverna called Medusa (Moudsa?) that has great reviews – we didn’t try it ourselves, but it might be worth checking out if you're already in the area. We were a group of four, spent around 15 minutes snapping photos, and moved on.

I was highly recommended to have my meal at Medusa by my ex-boss who messaged me from Singapore. I met 2 American travelers whom I got to know on my ferry to Milos so we decided to dine together as our serendipitous reunion. We were blessed that we did not need to queue but I just needed to wait for them to get the table ready after someone left. Soon after sitting down, people started to come in. Service was very personable. We ordered the Greek bruschetta and cheese puff and bread with Fava dip to start. Followed by grilled octopus and bluefin tuna steak to mains to share. Everything was amazing. Prices were very reasonable too. Mandrakia beach is indeed a very special place. We walked around and stayed a little to soak in the vibes of this charming beach.

So charming and beautiful! I recommend getting their early in the morning before the crowds so you can enjoy a coffee and the quiet before people show up - especially the “influencers/content creators” But it lives up to the photos you’ve seen, it’s a stunning fishing village with charge and color, a tiny pocket of Greek beauty nestled in a cove. I was there too early to go to Medusa but I heard good things from tourists and locals alike. Be sure to support the small businesses while visiting!
