This was a brilliant place to visit. As much as a lot of Athens is made for tourism and the site of ancient philosophy, there was a distinct lack of actual philosophy or info on the philosophical thoughts around. This place made up for this a lot! The videos summarising some of Plato's books were great. There were lots of digital resources to check out information about his life and his work and his influence. It's a little out of the way, but if you're visiting the academy, this is a must see. It is a shame there wasn't a clear way to donate, because the site is free and I only dropped a star because it has clearly seen better days. I would have loved for them to take some collections to do up some of the busted parts - the Plato's Cave section, for example, was not working and a couple of the digital touch screens were off. The building is also very unassuming. Overall, I think it is a fantastic place and I would love to see more support for this kind of thing and maybe more of these set up for other philosophers like Pythagoras, Aristotle, or Epicurus. Definitely worth checking out and spending an hour learning about one of the most important humans...

I had a really great time at this museum. The exhibits give an excellent representation of Plato's life, work, and relevance to the modern day - as well as what the academic might have looked like. I particularly enjoyed The Cave and The Soul/Love/Justice movies that represent the arguments and mythos used by Plato to show his ideas.
I've studied philosophy and Plato for many years and learned a few things.
Lots of the exhibits were interactive and very engaging.
A great experience. I look forward to going back. I would have happily paid, despite...
