The Skete of Prodromos is a Romanian cenobitic skete belonging to the Great Lavra Monastery. It is located in the southeastern extremity of Mount Athos, near the cave of Athanasios the Athonite. Its name, Prodromos, is Greek for "The Forerunner", a cognomen of St. John the Baptist.

Love this place, visited it 2 years ago with my sons of 10 & 17 years old and I wish to go back and revisit as soon as possible. A oasis of calm, spiritual life and prayers. A lot of efforts in better organisation and material improvements in the last years were clearly visible. I just hope that the spiritual life keeps the upward trend and is positively affected by the physical transformations and rebuilding of the place. Indeed the food is one of best quality, take notice that you need to focus on eating fast - the time allocated for eating is quite short! The 4G coverage was not good at the time of my visit in July 2017. Nature around is also beautiful, but rough and wild. Omg.. i can t even describe what you feel down there.. the atmosphere is amazing as soon as you step in to the monastery. The priest and the monks will tell you things about you that you already know them but you didn t pay attention to them. Try and walk arround or even better climb to the top of the mountain. It s a 6 hour trip to get up there but you won t be disappointed and you won t be tired as well.. is like something is pushing you to get up there. I wish every will go there at least once in their life. I will go there every year from now one !! Amazing ! Thanks God that he showed me this...

O parte din România creştin-ortodoxà pe meleaguri greceşti , în cel mai Sfânt Munte al Ortodoxiei, Muntele Athos ! Aici este şi o bunà parte a istoriei Bisericii Ortodoxe Române !
