Glaroi Beach — Attraction in Chios Municipality

We chose this beach on Friday because it was described as the best in all the reviews. We arrived around 10:30, among the first to get there. No one attended to us. Around 11:30, we went to the bar to get something to eat and drink. They informed us that due to some work being done, the electricity would be cut off soon, and the coffee machine wouldn’t work, so if we had any orders, we should place them immediately. My wife ordered a frappe, but I didn’t want anything at that moment because it felt too heavy for my stomach. When my wifes frappe, which took no more than two minutes to make, was ready, I took a sip while we were still at the bar, and I liked the taste. I asked if they could make one for me too. The bartender started yelling in Greek, aggressively grabbing the coffee cups as if to throw them at me, and angrily started preparing my coffee. I calmly asked in English what the problem was, pointing out that the electricity wasn’t supposed to go off for another half hour and that it hadn’t even been two minutes. I then shouted that I no longer wanted the coffee. No one apologized for his behavior or said anything at all. They couldn’t provide service all day due to the electricity issues, yet they still charged us €5 for the sunbeds. I believe this place is overhyped in the reviews. This place is a hidden paradise just down the road, set in a stunning turquoise bay. The beach has fine pebbles, soft enough to walk on barefoot, and the sea is simply fantastic—crystal clear with friendly little fish swimming around you.

The sunbeds are super comfy, with stylish umbrellas and small coffee tables that add a nice touch. We absolutely loved the yogurt with granola, and sipping champagne with complimentary treats made the experience feel extra special. The service was also attentive and warm.

If we had to mention downsides: there were quite a few children, and some teenagers were playing ball a bit too close to the sunbeds without much regard for others.

Still, despite that, this beach has become one of our absolute favorites. Can't wait...

Σαν παραλία από τις καλύτερες στην Χίο. Πολύ καθαρά νερα, κρύα βέβαια. Πάμε τώρα στα του beach bar. Μένω στο νησί 3 χρόνια, επειδη η παραλια ειναι κοντα και δουλευω τα πρωινα πηγαίνω σχεδον κάθε μέρα εκεί. Γενικά το beach bar ήταν νορμάλ μέχρι που ήρθε η αποφραδα εκείνη ημέρα να μου δείξει πόσο τραγικοί είναι ορισμένοι επαγγελματίες και πως το συγκεκριμένο νησί δεν θα προχωρήσει πότε σε τουρισμό γιατί έχει την νοοτροπία χωριού (προς θεού δεν έχω κάτι με τα χωρια, κι εγώ από χωριό είμαι, απλώς στην εξυπηρέτηση όσο να πεις τα χωριά ύστερουν). Πάμε λοιπόν. Ήταν 15 Αυγούστου και λέω χαμός θα γινεται ας ξεκινήσω νωρίς. Φτάνω στην παραλία στις 11, βρίσκω ξαπλώστρα με σκιά και λέω μια χαρά την βολεψαμε σήμερα. Παραγγελνω, περνάει καμία ωρα και ξαφνικά εμφανίζεται ο ιδιοκτητης να μας ανακοινωσει, στην παρέα μου και σε 3-4 ακόμη παρέες, οτι το μαγαζί είχε μια κράτηση 20 ατόμων την οποία ξέχασε και θα τον βοηθούσαμε αν σηκωνομασταν να πάμε στο μπαρ μέχρι να αδειάσει κάτι , τα χρηματα για τους καφέδες και τις ξαπλώστρες θα επιστρέφονταν. Βέβαια να μην τον αδικω, είπε οποίος δεν θέλει να την δώσει ας την κρατήσει, δεν θα μας σήκωνε και με το ζόρι. Έφαγε φυσικά το ανάλογο κράξιμο από όλους. Η απάντηση ήταν ότι ξεκίνησαν ήδη να ερχονται οι κρατήσεις, έκανε ένα λάθος και συγγνώμη και τα γνωστά. Προφανώς φύγαμε και δεν θα ξαναπατήσουμε. Πάμε στο δια ταυτα 1. αν σηκωνομασταν στο μπαρ ξαπλωστρα δεν θα βρίσκαμε μέχρι τις 3 ούτε για δειγμα, 2.ξεκινησαμε νωρίς για να βρούμε οπότε 12:30 που φύγαμε δεν έπαιζε να βρούμε πουθενα αλλού τίποτα, 3. Βρε πανέξυπνες επιχειρηματία αφού έκανες την βλακεία, γιατί δεν στέλνεις στο μπαρ την κράτηση σου και βρες αυτούς να τακτοποιήσεις, εξάλλου αργησανε και λίγο ,15 Αυγούστου ήταν δύσκολη μέρα, κράτηση σε beach bar γενικά παίζει σπάνια (πιστευω ήταν συγγενείς του να πω την αλήθεια, εξού και η νοοτροπία χωριου, θα σηκώσω 5 παρέες θείο μην ανησυχείς), 4. Η δικαιολογια του επιχειρηματία ξεκίνησαν με τα αμάξια να έρχονται, λες και εμείς δεν κάναμε απόσταση να φτάσουμε ως εκεί. Αυτά τα ολίγα...
