Absolutely stunning place. I did not expect this and was very sorry not to take my bathing suite. If I did I would jump into the little lake created by waterfall.
Watter is cold and very refreshing.
As I did not have much time in Olympus Mountain I opted to get here by car. You can get very close. There are old ruins about 10 minutes away where you can park the car. On the far end of parking lot you can find not marked but fairly visible route. Just follow it and about 5 minutes you will reach hiking trail going to the waterfalls. In another 5-10 minutes you will reach the fork in the road. Take left as you can hear waterfalls from here and in about 50 meter you are at the waterfalls.
I have done it with my 9-year-old daughter and can imagine I could have done it with here since she was 3-4 years old.
As an alternative just going back to the car from here you can continue the track up the mountain to see river bridges and ending in Prionia restaurant. Just take the other path from the fork. Only one think on this is when you will reach horses make you will make sort of U-turn to wider road. follow the road for 20-30 meters and look for path going to the left into the forest as that is correct one. If you continue straight you will get on the road above you and make your walk to Prionia about 50 minutes longer then...
Read moreWaterfall is very beautiful. Even if we take on the wrong way first time and we arrived to Zeus Bath, at the return in the parking place we saw the stairs on the right side of the car parking place.
Unfortunately is very bad signed , I will say not at all signed the road to waterfall.
After you go down to the stairs you take it to the right(to the left is holy cave). You have to walk around 10 minutes on the path , you pass through an old river which is dried. Take this as a referral point. From the old river you have to walk another 5 minutes and the road is making 2x paths. ( a metal sign with Holy Dionisius will be at the crossroads. At this point keep left and walk to the path for another 5 minutes.
The road is easy to...
Read moreNice and small waterfall at the end of the road up on the Olympus mountain. The trail leads from the parking or the restaurant up with a few wide stairs straight to the right turn towards the waterfall. It is a beautiful waterfall but not a big one and it has the view of some of the highest peaks behind it. The waters are super clean and clear. You are not allowed to go in the water because it is used as drinking water and nobody wants to drink water that many people swim in it. Also it is super cold so don't even think about it. The E4 trail proceeds to the top from there and is still under big trees...
