The Abbot and the Monks follow the christian rules of the Early Church and they care of the greek christian orthodox traditions according to these of the Holy Mountain Athos. They are very friendly, laughing, hospitable, philantropists etc, etc, etc. and they realize every day the teachings of Jesus Christ in the practice. Novi manastir Svetog Dionisija nalazi se u blizini mesta Litohoro, na oko 3km udaljenosti i na 900m nadmorske visine. Stari manastir koji se nalazi u brdu na oko 17km udaljenosti od Novog, pretrpeo je velika razaranja, prvo 1821. za vreme trajanje ustanka Grka protiv Osmanlija , kada su ga Osmanlije opljačkale i spalile, a onda 1943.g. kada su ga Nemci uništili granatiranjem. Sačuvano je dosta relikvija i ikona zahvaljujući monasima, i 1950.g. izgradnjom Novog manastira one su smeštene u manastirski Muzej.. Sveti Dionisije je poreklom iz Tesalije, rođen negde u XVI veku, boravio je i na Svetoj gori kao iguman manastira Filotej, bio pustinjak na Pelionu, misionar u Makedoniji, a onda je došao na Olimp i sagradio manastir . Stari manastir se renovira. Novi manastir je na lepom mestu, okružen zelenilom, sa divnim dvorištem. Crkva je divna, sagrađena po ugledu na stare manastirske crkve, sa divnim ikonama. Sveti Dionisije je poznat kao zaštitnik žena, nerotkinja i trudnica. Manastir posećuje veliki broj žena koje imaju priblem sa sterilitetom u nadi da će uz pomoć molitvi Svetom Dionisiju ostvariti svoju želju za potomstvom( informacija dobijena od turističkog vodiča koji je vidio grupu) . U manastiru je dozvoljeno fotografisanje (tj samo par fotografija, mada ne znam na koji način to moze da se kontroliše ko je koliko fotkao), kao i u dvorištu manastira, ali je u Muzeju strogo zabranjeno, i monasi i imaju pravo da vam uzmu aparat i obrišu fotografije ako vide da se fotigrafiše.
