Read moreCame very early in the morning, so that no one was here. Was really beautiful with views over to Amorgos by the horizon and large steep cliffs right above your head. Rocks actually similar to the ones in the Seychelles and the water is mostly turqoise and cold.

However, it is really small and beaches like that can be found much more commonly in Sardinia, Italy for example. Also quite difficult to reach, having to hike about 10-12 minutes down, and later back up, a very rocky trail.
Recommend to bring food and drinks with you as there is literally no infrastructure anywhere nearby, same with most of Ikaria's south coast. You can drive a few kilometres to the west to visit the pretty, quiet little fishing village...
Read moreBeautiful beach but very hard to get to if walking. We tried to find the path yesterday and got down to the huge rocks at the bottom of the trail but the sea was too rough so we gave up. Today we managed to carefully follow the white arrows and when you get right to the very bottom you either have to walk a very narrow dangerous path over a huge boulder or you zig-zag down to the bottom of the boulder and have to step into the water about .5m deep. Once on the beach it is beautiful with very clear water. The beach is now much smaller than years before and the ladders, bridge, and platform you see in some older pictures are not there any more. Its very isolated but there is some shade from the huge overhanging cliffs. Definitely worth the treck but...
