We had a wonderful experience at George Zervas Winery! Stefanos was an excellent host and gave us the very interesting history of the vineyard and the local wine producing region of Thesprotia. Thesprotia is fast becoming renowned for its wines in Greece and abroad! Zervas is helping put Thesprotia firmly on the map. You can see why - the wines are beautiful. Some very unique and fresh wines and new takes on traditional roses and reds. Stunning! This is a must for anyone who appreciates good wine, and even if you don’t it’s still worth a visit to learn the history and take in the views. We came across this beautiful and young winery by chance and went there spontaneously. We were warmly welcomed and given a wonderful and interesting guided tour. It was very nice to learn about the production process of the great wines, which are made especially with local old grapes. Our favourite was the Terra Argilla. Very nice white wine made from the Malagousia grape. It's wonderful that young winemakers are now cultivating this region and producing high-quality products. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality and taken on an engaging tour. It was fascinating to see the meticulous process behind their superb wines, most made with traditional local grape varieties. My top pick was the Filoxenia, a fantastic rose wine.
