An interesting wild place to see so close to civilization, where turtles, frogs and fish live (somewhat) unbothered in their natural habitat. We visited it after a rainy day and the road (the one that waze suggested) was a bit of a challenge, but it definitely helped that the car was equiped with 4x4 traction. I would recommend taking the longer one, it's easyer to reach the place by car. For the turtles we had some bread and grissini, for which they fought, and after feeding them, we decided to follow the path in the woods to see where it leads. We found out it actually surrounds the lake, the stroll is easy and pleasant, but because of the wet and slipery ground and lack of appropriate footware, it was a bit difficult at times to overcome it. Moreover, we saw wild boar poop on the trail, that raised our heart...

Nice hike from Polychrono to this turtle lake. It's about 1 hour up from the town to this lake (maybe 250m elevation) and about 45 minutes down. End of April the area was very green with lots of colourful flowers. Not busy at all, so could really enjoy some nature in peace and quiet. Lake is quite small but it was cool to see lots of turtles and big fish in the water (I spotted at least 10 turtles at the same time). Some reviews say you can drive up here with the car, but I would only recommend this if you have a 4x4 car, some parts of this road are cracked and you could get stuck with a regular car.

Halfway you'll see a little monastery with beautiful sea views.

Perfectly fine to do with a dog as well, especially in low season (my dog walked off the lead since we only encountered a...

We visited this tiny lake in August and it took us 10-13 mins to get from the foot of the mountain to the pond by car. The road is awful - it goes like a roller coaster up the hill with a cliff on one side, then down with the thorn bushes sticking into the car windows. At some parts there are rocks on the road and you'll jump inside the car while hitting them. This was a huge minus for me. You can hike on foot there, but it'll take minimum 30 mins however there are a few benches along the road. The lake itself has dirty water, 2-3 spots where you can watch the swimming turtles and that's it. Totally we spent max 15 mins taking photos. You can't walk around the lake because it's not suited for any tourist activities except watching. I won't go here for the...
