Horrific Experience – Hostile, Antisemitic, Unsafe Environment.

If you are Jewish, Israeli, or simply looking for a safe and welcoming travel experience, I strongly urge you to avoid this place.

We booked the Olive Oil Experience at the Lefkada microfarm weeks in advance from Israel, based on the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. We even got our kids excited for what was supposed to be a fun, educational, and memorable day. Instead, it turned into one of the most traumatic travel experiences we have ever had.

After a one-hour drive, we arrived on time for our booking. The organizer told us we needed to wait for other guests to arrive, which we understood. While waiting, however, we noticed a prominently displayed wooden sign at the center of the reception area. It contained blatant antisemitic hate speech, including: “End Zionism Save Humanity. Bibi attacked his own people on October 7th.”

As soon as the host saw us notice the sign, he asked if we were visiting from Israel. When we answered yes, he aggressively demanded to know if we supported the Israeli Prime Minister. When we said yes, he became visibly enraged, offered us a refund, and declared he would not “entertain perpetrators of genocide.” We had not come for politics but for an olive oil tour with our children.

What followed was deeply disturbing. His hands were shaking with anger as he processed our refund. He became increasingly hostile, told us to leave immediately, and said that our children “wouldn’t want to experience what the children in Gaza were experiencing.” At that point, my wife and kids were extremely frightened, isolated in the middle of his farm, surrounded by his staff, and subjected to his hostility. We left immediately, shaken and distressed.

This was supposed to be a cultural and culinary experience, but instead we were confronted with hate speech, intimidation, and aggressive behavior. No family should ever be subjected to such...

We had a wonderful time at the farm. Andreas is truly passionate about what he does. It was a real pleasure to walk around the grounds, discovering a wide variety of plants — many of which we were able to taste or smell. The farm itself is beautifully kept and has a very peaceful atmosphere.

The olive oil tasting was particularly interesting. Not only did we sample different oils, but we also learned a great deal about olive oil in general — including its health benefits and what to look out for when purchasing high-quality oil. The session was full of practical advice and genuinely informative. We especially appreciated the comparison between the farm’s oils and a standard supermarket oil of lower quality, which made it much easier to understand and appreciate the differences for ourselves. We now feel confident in recognising top-quality olive oil.

We had some lovely conversations and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the farm and the opportunity to meet Andreas. Many thanks once again, and...

❌ A very disappointing and upsetting experience. We came especially to visit this farm after hearing great recommendations and were expecting a pleasant time. Unfortunately, the owner decided not to let us in simply because we come from a certain background – he explicitly said he does not accept people who come from certain places. This is discriminatory, racist, and deeply disrespectful, with no place in the tourism industry, especially at a place that presents itself as welcoming.

As travelers, we expect fair and equal treatment regardless of our origin. This experience was both hurtful and disappointing, and we strongly advise others to think twice before coming here.

👉 A suggestion for the owner: if certain people are not welcome, it would be more honest to clearly mention it on the booking platforms so travelers don’t waste their time coming all...

Great experience at Microfarm Lefkada. Andreeas is a solitare hard working man who built up this business with respect for nature. His mother is a very kind, fascinating and calm woman, very generous with her abilities of making filo, resisting heroically for her age at the heat of the day. There are cats and a huge dog at the site but no worries regarding the safety or the hygienic conditions- the owner is thinking carefully to both. I learnt a lot, I enjoyed and recomand the experience. As suggestions: I would prefer a much early start of the day in Microfarm (considering the weather forecast), I would like to leave with the apron or a rolling pin as a nice remember and compliment and I would like to get some e-recipes of what we made.

A brilliant concept combining the organic farming of our ancestors with the art of cooking healthy products and simple recipes allowing you to discover fantastic flavors and tastes. On the menu, we prepared bread, vegetable briam, Greek salad and of course tzatziki! Andreas is a lover of authentic, ecologically responsible agriculture. He rehabilitated land owned by his ancestors which had not been maintained for over 30 years by creating this farm. There you can find all kinds of vegetables, herbs, olive trees, flowers and fruits. Congratulations Andreas for this initiative which reminds us that we are what we eat!!!
