One of the best places is waterfalls with an easy hike. It is like a magical place hidden not too far from the Nidri city center. It is easy to drive here but Google maps can be misleading. If you are following Google maps you will come across a split with Google maps showing the road on the left, ignore and follow the sign on the road to take the road to the right. A drive through a scenic area with small orchids and an old stadium will lead to the parking lot shaded by trees. There is a cafe a few feet walking distance from the parking lot and it has its own mini waterfalls and is a nice set up. Walk further up the trail through a green forest with flowing water and mother nature's smiles will bring you to the treasure the waterfall itself. It is a quiet magical place straight out of Rivendell if you are a LOTR fan. This is a must visit...
Read moreI'm a little bit dissapointed. Mother nature meets tourism and the world of fake pictures for instagram/facebook what ever. The walk from Nidri is 1 hour. It is a really nice walk through the streets of Nidri..cute house, orange/lemon and olive trees. Then you come to the parking spot and you heare loud music from the cafe. The way to the waterfall is good to handle, but also destroyed by people. Meaning..the broken handrail or garbage and on one waterfall a water pipe?! The waterfall on the top is really small. Its nice, but small and the narrow path is crowed with people who are waiting to get in the water for a picture. Wasn't fun. Its not even vacation season. Don't want to know what it looks like in july or august. I walked back and sit on a stone with my feet in the clear cold water. Sorry, but not...
Read moreFrom the car park it’s a short walk to the waterfall. The path is uneven in places and rocky and has steps etc so may be a bit challenging if you’re not sure footed but we did it easily in flip-flops but trainers would be more practical. Half of it is in shade as the path goes through a very steep gully so even in summer it was pretty cool. There was a small rock fall while we were walking so as with anything like this you do need to be aware of your surroundings and take care. The waterfall was dry (June 2024) but we didn’t same walk in June a few years ago and it was flowing. On that occasion we stood underneath it and swam - it must have been a wetter year! Even without the water it’s a nice short walk to do anyway and the cafe at the car park is lovely and has a large...
