Booked as Olive festival tour. 50 Euros per person. A coach collected us from Sissi, at 18:30, for the short journey to the Olive mill. We were met by staff from the mill and separated into language groups for a quick tour of part of the mill with an reasonable explanation of the process. Then a tour of the shop, tasting of the oils is encouraged. Then we were seated in a large area, a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine on the table of 8 (an empty bottle could be exchanged at the bar for a new one so unlimited drinks) The food was served as a buffet so a long queue but the food was excellent and no shortages as the empty dishes were replenished very quickly. Desert was a mixture of fruits and some fried dough balls with honey, again unlimited. 2 musicians entertained us, keyboard and bouzouki , with traditional Greek music and a troop of 4 dancers. Of course Zorba was played and everyone invited to join in the dance. A very good evening, and compared to similar events I've been to in the past much better. Highly...
Read moreWe had a great visit here. After previously visiting an olive oil factory in Zakynthos/Zante it was interesting to see how this one compared. Michail/Mike (friend of the family who own the place) greeted us and discussed the whole process, answering questions along the way. He then showed us the sample products to try and left us to show some other people around. It was fascinating learning more about the process. There is also a vast array of items in the shop, most are made by the company themselves and these items are well priced, and there is also other items which I believe are from other sellers nearby in Sisi etc. We bought some garlic and basil, & kalamata balsamic vinegar, bay leaf and rosemary olives to have as part of our own meze at our apartment; delicious. All in all a great visit, and highly recommended, thank you. Make sure you sample the chocolate &...

A further note on our first visit: We have now been to Lyrakis for the third time, and once again, it was a fantastic experience. The tour was excellent as always—both informative and entertaining. The tastings of olive oil, olives, honey, and other delicacies were a true delight. We were particularly impressed by the outstanding quality of the products.
The selection of beautiful cups and other handmade items available for purchase is also impressive. In the evening, we participated in another tasting, which was simply delightful. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and we felt completely at ease.
In the end, we stocked up generously on olives and olive oil, as we can't find anything comparable in quality for our palate. A big thank you and warm greetings to the lovely Lyrakis family for their hospitality and...
