As other reviews have noted, the caves are beautiful and peaceful, and an easy hike off a windy rural road. However, few of the reviews I’ve seen mention that this is a SUPER SPOOKY SPOT - per the information board, this is the site of a terrible siege and massacre! There is a tribute/shrine near the chapel that has bones of some of the deceased in it. It was genuinely chilling to be in that space (when my partner and I visited, there were no other guests around) and although the views are absolutely stunning, it definitely did not seem like a place for merry-making. Sort of like visiting a graveyard - good for quiet reflection. As noted, there are no fees, no facilities, and unfortunately some people left garbage there, and it is unclear who/when clean up occurs.

One of the highlights of our whole vacation! We stayed there for hours because of the peace and quiet you can experience there. The cave itself is pretty interesting and is probably also very deep. We sat in front of the little church for at least 1,5 hours because of the atmosphere. The sun was setting just during that time and the whole light was so beautiful! Also there were a lot of goats nearby who had a lot of different bells around their necks. So we just sat there, enjoyed the view and calmed down to the sound of those bells. It was just magical!

It is a nice small cave with a small chapel hidden inside. But don't expect to see too much. Good walking shoes and fashlight or cell phone light are hard recommended because there is a dangerous walking path and no lighting inside the cave. When I was there, I saw two people accidently bump their head to the low top of the cave, one of them even bleeding. No tour guide for help, I think it should be more security measures that have to be done before they let the tourists go in. it's not safe for tourists at this moment.

No costs and definitely worth it to visit! The ride through the mountains to find this spot is already the first adventure. The 2nd is this very impressive cave. You can directly go into it and find the tiny little dark parts by yourself. Back in the days, over 3000 people fled in it. The 3rd adventure is the montain goats on the other site of the canyon. You can hear their bells ring, which a little sounds like it is coming from the trees. You have to watch carefully to see them.

You need to be physically able to get to Milatos Cave as it is some distance along a rough and rocky mountain track but other than that it isn't arduous to get to. It's an extraordinary place, worth exploring beyond the entrance chamber if you have a torch with you and are competent in caving. The tiny church built inside is really remarkable too, all set within the mountain gorge with goats clambering around and eagles flying above.
