We had an incredible visit to Domaine Paterianakis Winery — truly a gem nestled in the hills of Crete! The term “Domaine” refers to a winery that grows its own grapes and produces wine on-site, ensuring full control over quality from vineyard to bottle. And it absolutely shows here.
Their selection of natural and traditional wines was outstanding — each one beautifully crafted and full of character. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just curious, you’ll find something to love.
Our tasting experience was made even more special by Kostas, our gracious and knowledgeable host, and Niki, one of the owners, who brought everything to life with her passion and storytelling. The views over the rolling vineyards and mountains are breathtaking and make the perfect backdrop for sipping world-class Cretan wine.
This is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Crete. Domaine Paterianakis delivers a truly authentic and unforgettable experience. Highly...
Read moreThis was our third stop on our wine tour yesterday and our favorite of the day. Everything was amazing from the property, customer service to the wine. The lady helping us (I forgot her name), was so kind and knowable. The winery provided a nice pamphlet describing all of their wines, such as the grape varieties, classification, when it’s harvested and much more. The white wines here were my favorite and each new tasting I liked the new one even more than the last. The “Moschato Spinas” was probably my favorite of the day, I absolutely loved the floral aromas and taste.
We also got to walk the vineyards and see the barrel room, which had some really cool vintage bottles. The cellar was bigger than expected and very picturesque.
Finally, I love that it’s women owned and operated winery, girl power! I would highly recommend stopping in! They have the cutest little dog walking...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Domaine Paterianakis, where we had a lunch with wine pairings and were offered a tour of the cellar to learn more about the production. I appreciate that the pairings were flexible based on our tastes and the kinds of wines we generally prefer. The food was excellent and homemade and the wines were high quality. Niki was a delight and obviously takes great pride in her family's business. We did not choose to ship wine since we have a wine suitcase, but it is possible to ship to some states in the U.S. and they have a lot of information available to help you with this! Overall a great experience and we would happily return on a future...
