Mega Drive Go Kart Chania — Attraction in Municipality of Chania

A reservation for free pick up does not mean that you actually get what a reservation is supposed to be. You get a maybe and in the end a no, after you were told that it’s actually booked and you cancelled other plans for your last evening in Chania.

I called around 5 PM to book free transfer from Chania for a group at 9 PM. I was told that there’s another group around that time but it’s ok, we set it for 9 PM and if they can’t honor it after they recheck they’ll call back soon. They didn’t so I thought it’s booked. Left the beach early, cancelled other plans to go karting. At 8 pm I CALL THEM just to make sure it’s settled so we don’t wait at the pick up point without anyone coming. I am told that “I tried to call you” (which they didn’t). “We won’t make it at 9 due to having the other group. And it’ll be at around 10 and that I’ll be called back. I wasn’t. Called again close to 10 and they said he won’t come because they’re full and to book it for tomorrow. Which obviously we couldn’t. Plus a total lack of professionalism when talking on the phone. And then he just hang up on me. According to his view he probably thinks that people would just wait for the confirmation 5 min before.

I recently visited this place with friends and had a mixed experience. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the restaurant staff were wonderful—friendly and welcoming. However, the go-karting experience was disappointing, primarily due to the blatant sexism displayed by one of the staff members.

I was the only woman in our group, and from the start, my kart was noticeably slower than the others—even before the staff member had seen us drive and despite all of us having previous go-karting experience. This made it clear that he had assumed I wouldn't be able to handle the same speed. When we brought up the issue, he dismissed our concerns, insisting that all karts were set to the same speed. After we insisted further, he reluctantly adjusted my kart but made a condescending remark that he'd reduce the speed to zero if I crashed.

It was obvious that he believed women can't drive as well as men, which was disappointing. While the restaurant staff were excellent, the sexist attitude of the go-karting guy overshadowed the entire experience. I hope this issue is addressed so that all customers, regardless of gender, are treated with respect...

Very disappointed at the service and experience. Went to drive there with my two teenager kids, we all have experience from karting and two of us +10 years competitive racing experience. The guy giving us the karts asked if this is the first time, I told NO and told we are racers. He adjusted the carburators, I asked why and he told to make them equal. I asked for full speed settings.

We left on track different times and I though my son was slowing down to get us a chance to race. When I caught and passed him it came obvious his kart was tuned down. We immediately came to pits to ask for a fix. The guy actes rude, but made the setup change only to stop us driving right next lap. I complained and asked him to let my son do even 2 laps with full speed. No chance.

Also no lap times were recorded.

Also complained to the manager for bad service, same rude attitude.
