Booked through a travel agency for 3 people transfer to acqua plus park. We watched the travel agent call acqua plus and confirm our transfer.

On the morning of our day out we came to the pick up point 20 minutes early to the time because we were excited! We waited for 50 mins then asked at a nearby hotel to call the number on the receipt and they said they were on the way. The nearby hotel then came out to us and suggested we go back to where we booked the trip which we then did.

Back at the travel agency they called acqua plus as the transfer was organised by them. Upon calling them they realised that the transfer had forgotten to pick us up. The travel agency staff were extremely helpful and suggested we could go on the next available day but we were going home that day. The other option was to go the next day by public bus by ourselves and they would pick us up from heraklion. Acqua plus also agreed to pay for all our travel and give us a free meal due to their error - they did not fully fulfil this promise.

We got a taxi to the bus station at 7:15am which costed €13 and got to the bus station to catch the 7:45am bus which costed €23 euros for all of us one way.

The bus took 1 hour and a half to get to heraklion where we called the acqua park to pick us up as arranged. We waited 35 minutes for them to pick us up at around 9:40am. He did not take us directly to the park and had cigarette break and stopped to buy cigarettes on the way.

When we got to the park he took us to the front of the queue which was the only thing he did right. He told us to be back at the entrance for 5pm after he gave us our wrist bands.

The actual at the park was really fun, very clean and very friendly with lots of slides to go on. Can’t fault the actual park experience at all. Everything you buy gets charged to your wrist band and you pay at the end so you don’t need to carry your phone or money around the park. Lockers cost extra.

Upon leaving we had trouble to find someone to refund us but after calling the same number and we found someone to help us. They did clear our meal and our bus travel to the park but they did not refund the taxi or the return bus trip. We were out of pocket €43 euros.

The return bus to heraklion took over an hour as it was going to all the heraklion hotels. We finally got back to our hotel at 8:30pm. It was a long day and far more work than we had originally booked for when we booked the acqua plus transfer at the beginning.

Over all poor customer service...

We visited Acqua Plus in June of 2019. We booked our trip to through one of the many excursion centres scattered across Crete.

Initial impressions were positive. The park is situated in the middle of nowhere, but that is no bad thing, as the views of the surrounding hills and valleys are spectacular. The changing facilities are basic but adequate and kept clean enough. There is a ridiculous charge of up to €6 for a locker and it isn’t a deposit - you do not get that money back. The park operates an easy cashless wristband system, where everything you purchase is scanned onto your band and paid for upon departure.

The park itself is built on a hill, so prepare yourself for a lot of uphill walking. The floor isn’t exactly comfortable to walk on, due to its texture and scorching temperature. The coloured flooring is particularly brutal, with the blue floor being the worst culprit. Walking across hot coals springs to mind. Water shoes are advisable. The queues were minimal and staff kept everything moving efficiently. The lifeguards were all friendly and did nothing to inhibit the fun.

Our experience of the food facilities was desperate. A dry, barely edible chicken fillet, stone cold meatballs, and a sly charge of 10 cents for a single sachet of mayonnaise. We later ordered a waffle from the snack bar, which was delicious and salvaged some credibility on the food front.

As for the slides, Acqua Plus has a wide variety for all ages. The standout highlights for us included the Crazy River, Black Holes, and the impressive new five slide tower structure. The Olympic size swimming pool is an impressive sight, but annoyingly, lacked depth.

The Lazy River is a monumental disappointment. At various points we had to propel ourselves along due to the lack of current. We also concluded there were not enough slides allowing double rings, all bar one only allowed single riders.

From being in the park from 10:00am until 5:00pm, we did find a lack of things to do towards the end. We went on most slides around three times on average and found things getting a little repetitive.

Acqua Plus, compared to its rival park, Water City is, in our opinion, far superior. Better quality slides, staff, scenery, and cheaper.

We would thoroughly recommend Acqua Plus as a day out in Crete. Just remember to come prepared - plenty of sun cream, water shoes and...

I came to the park on Monday with my wife and 2 kids for the 1st time for my daughters birthday.

However we left feeling with a bitter taste and not wanting to come back.

1 - On the Crazy River ride I went down with my 2 kids. I came off the float at the 1st drop only to find there is no lifeguard here. I was then unable to get back on my float and before I know it there were 10 other people in the pool. It was very dangerous. I climbed out of the pool and didn't know where I was and still no help came at all whilst people piled up in the 1st drop. Eventually I managed to just walk off the ride. When I complained to the lifeguards they ignored me.

2 - My kids decided they wanted to go on the ride again later. My daughter (8 years old) was trying to get into her float and slipped down the slide and had to climb back up to get in the float. The life guard didn't even bother to help her. She eventually completed the ride and left the ride in tears.

3 - I went to management to complain who didn't apologise or try to make amends. They radio someone and then said it should be ok now.

4 - Later my kids went back on the ride and still no life guard at the 1st drop. My kids got stuck at this drop. I ended up climbing into the slide area to then push them down the slide.

5 - Again complained to guards who ignored us.

6 - As riders come off the slide they were not sharing floats so the kids couldn't get a float. I told the life guard at the bottom and other managers who were at the bottom of the slide and both ignored us or said to us "no English".

7 - Throughout the park the guards are not present. They don't wear anything to make them standout and they don't seem to pay attention to the riders.

From a safety aspect I am horrified at your park.

8 - Upon leaving our wristbands were scanned and somehow on the kids wristbands there were 3 beers???? I havnet drunk alcohol in 50 years and my wife doesn't drink. How on earth did this end up in our bill. We then had to argue this and refuse to pay and only pay for the items we...

Great adventure activity for adults and kids. I can not comment on the kids slides, as we were only adults. But even without kids we enjoyed some adrenalin rush. The best slides are by far the tsunami (white, see video) and the dark jungle slides (take the ride one). On the 23m meter slides there was a lot of traffic on the white/blue/yellow one, it is also a darf slide with a bucket at the end. But in my opinion the yellow slide is far more fun and you have a faster line there. The orange and red one move fast too, but beside a very fast ride, you don‘t really experience much. A bit hidden in the back and a bit of an older slide is the blue kamikaze, which was more fun in my opinion than the very high ones. As said the tsunami one is by far the best on, you ride on a ring and from above it feel even steeper than what you can see on the videos. The que on the those is not very long. We were there on a friday. For the tickets I definitely recommend buying them online, as you will get a discount. Unfortunately you will have to stand in line with everyone else when you enter. (If you buy online, you will get a confirmation email with an order number, that is enough to enter. There will not be a specific QR code or „ticket“) The food is alright, it is cantine style and quick. The fries very good, the gyros was okay but nothing spectacular. Prices were alright (7-9€). The smallest locker can fit a big water bottle and a backpack. The bigger once are quickly sold out. The staff is very friendly and cautious. Depending in the slide there is minimum 1 person to check when you can go next and they also watch out for the kids if they are with a parent and have the minimum height. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it.

Really great water park, with lots of different rides for all ages and bravery! The bits people worry about: Queuing time is less than a couple of minutes for most rides. The big ones at the rear of the park can be a little longer, but we didn't wait much more than 5-8 minutes for these. (Shortest wait times are lunchtime as expected) Safety: Lots of lifeguards on all the rides, and all seemed attentive and not overly officious. Sunbeds: There were so many sunbeds that I can't see you'd have a problem finding as many as you'd need. We didn't arrive early and still had a good choice of where to sit. Lockers: Small, medium & large available and they also have the option of putting more valuable items in your own safe. All at a cost, but reasonable in cost. Food: Can't comment too accurately but our youngest had a burger and it was wolfed down in no time and he said it was good! Queues quite long at peak times, but moved quickly. There have been other people comment about the floor being slippy. It is. Very...... but if you walk, it won't be a problem. Overall, we had a great day, would definitely go back again, and if you're staying in the area, then would recommend it for a day out. I think you can get deals on entrance prices if you go through one of the many kiosks around. Fab park - keep up the good work guys! 👏
