We went to this beach during summer (in August). Our experience was pretty difficult. First of all there is no shadow during the all hike which make it hard to climb. Then we were not as prepared as we should’ve been, indeed, we didn’t have lots of water. To do this ascension you NEED to have water as you won’t be able to find some during the hike. We went up in 2 hours (from the port to the monastery). Then we had a hard time finding the blue path (the blue rocks are right where the White House is). The path to go down is not really a path. You have to really look where you’re going or you could hurt yourself. We went down in maybe 40 minutes. Then we arrived at the beach. It was nice, beautiful and away from tourists (we were 5 on it). However lots of beaches are as beautiful as this one in Hydra and it was for us anyway not worth the hike. The hardest part was going up. We dit the ascension (to the monastery) in an hour. And it was EXTREMELY hard. The Sun + the hike + the lack of water, I don’t recommend it, our legs were burning. We were able to have water at the monastery (it is not always open, we were lucky) The hike down was not as complicated as everything above. I recommend this hike if you are prepared for it, mentally, physically and also if you have the right equipment (good shoes, water, food). I believe that you can take a boat to go there which may be a good solution if you’re not down for it. Good luck to those doing the hike you...

The trail winds through rocky paths surrounded by thorny plants, and yes, ticks are part of the local fauna. Shorts are a very brave choice (read: not recommended), and good shoes are an absolute must if you don’t want your legs to look like mincemeat.
The way down – and especially back up – feels like an obstacle course: steep, uneven and full of sharp rocks.
However, once you get there, you’ll find a quiet, secluded beach with very few people around and refreshingly cold water that will wake up every cell of your body.
All in all, a unique and slightly...

When you get to the top of the hill overlooking the beach, head to the left of the white house and follow the blue dots and arrows on the ground down the winding, steep and slippery trail to the beach where you're rewarded with beautiful aspect and lovely swim.
Make sure you take plenty of water! The trek back up took us just under and hour and we were blowing hard at the top.
Good shoes a must, shorts ok. Take it easy and...
