Practical Information for Visitors to Apella Beach • Date of Visit: August 31, 2025, at 08:44 • Wind: During my visit, the wind speed was 14 km/h — calm and comfortable. Always check the forecast before heading out; if winds exceed 30 km/h, it’s best to choose another beach. • Parking: A small lot near the restaurant offers space for about 8 cars. Further down, closer to the beach, there’s an unpaved road with large rocks (don’t worry about the “private parking” sign — if no one parks there, no one visits and the restaurant loses business). Arrive early to secure a spot. • Parasols & Sunbeds: Rentals cost €20 per set. At midday, there were still some available. The real challenge at Apella isn’t the sunbeds, but parking. If you prefer not to rent, there’s plenty of space to set up your own umbrella. • Facilities: Toilets are available at nearby restaurants, and changing rooms are provided at the sunbed rental areas.

The sea deepens quickly, reaching about 2 meters just 7 meters from shore. The water is crystal clear and absolutely stunning.

Note: There are no trash bins on the beach — please take your garbage with you.

Note 2: On the way back to the hotel, you’ll encounter lots of cars parked along the road, leaving barely enough space to pass. Thankfully, no cars were coming from the opposite direction —...

Very nice beach in the north side of the island. It has pebbles - from large to very small. The beach is wide and has several areas towards the back with trees if you are looking for natural shade. Otherwise there are sun beds and umbrellas for rent (20 Euros for the day in June 2024). The water is crystal clear, you can walk a bit before it gets deep. The position makes it that it loses sunlight earlier, around 6 pm. The left side of the beach gets the shade earlier, while the further right you go the more sunshine you get. There are tourist boats decking on the right side of the beach. I was concerned about the drive, as many reviews mentioned a bad road. Sure, it is not an Interstate, but my cheap old rental made it just fine. The road is just narrow. Parking is a bit of an issue. You can park in the small lot by the taverna - provided you have a meal there. Or you can park along the road. The sooner you get there, the closest your car is going to be...

Nice beach for snorkelling with crystal clear waters. A little bit hard to get in the water as it is a pebble beach, we left our flip flops close to the shoreline.

If you want to park close to the entrance, to avoid walking uphill under the sun, be there before 10:00. The beach starts to get crowded after 11:00 and around 12:00 is when the tourist boats arrive at the far right side. Still there is enough space for everyone at the beach.

An Umbrella with two sun-beds costs 20€, for the whole day. Although they look brand new their quality is bad. They are made from see-through canvas and not from bamboo, which means that the sun passes through quite easily, making it hard to get protection even under the umbrella. Unfortunately there are not many trees that could offer better shade.

There is a taverna at the top but is not easy to get service at the beach so be prepared and bring...
