Diakoftis Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Karpathos

Atrocious service, silly prices, and even smut on the sand, it's also nothing special compared to the better beaches on the island. 30€ per umbrella and two sunbeds. No exceptions, I personally witnessed rude keeper that demanded 60€ from a family of four. Sand is smooth, water is shallow for a good portion of the beach, I can't complain about that, but it's also a small beach, with a poor view, encased in bland rock. Road towards it goes along long part of rough and rocky terrain around the airport fence, with several sketchy sections. Water was quite cold at our time there, and there was a strong gale of wind across the beach that prevented any meaningful swimming. Worst of it all were cigarette buts in the sand, right next to the sunbeads, and what appeared as remains of a bird as well. At the very least try to avid getting scammed by...

Beach is unique beautiful with its white sand and crystal blue water. Every time we visit the beach we enjoy our time, we use our own stuff, we do not need to rent. We have been to the bar only for coffee and water, we had no problem at all when we asked to pay with credit card. We visited this beach all our life, never existed free drinks on this place! There was a small canteen which sold drinks, not free. Location is completely south and background is very relaxing! Many complain for the bar, its prices, the rubbish of the beach. If you don't like to rent an umbrella no one pushes by force! But please don't drop your rubbish on the beach and if you need a toilet please don't litter the beach because bar has a toilet. Beach is fantastic. Clear water and nice sand. On some places you can see a little bit of a pink sand. You will probably have cute visitors 🙂 some cute goats.

Just avoid that caffe on the beach. You can choose from bad sandwiches that they bought in the market and then they just put them in toaster and very bad greek salad in a very, very small portion (not fresh cut and they did not even put good goat cheese). Prices are insane. The sandwiches were 5 eur and that greek salad was around 8 eur. They dont have any prices on the hand written menu on board and they did not give us a check. Two sandwiches, very small bad greek salad, one frappe and one coca cola were 26 eur. That much we paid for the fantastic dinner in restaurants in Pigadia. Just bring your own food.
