A really interesting museum in a fascinating area. The exhibit is small but filled with really interesting artifacts. A very neat display with information in both Greek and English for everything. The staff is super friendly and speaks decent English. There are also two tombs sites (tumulus) in the museum area, one is in a building right next to the museum and one can be seen only with a tour guide from the museum's staff and resides within a short walking distance. Really worth the visit.
A ticket costs 6 Euros, I think it's worth it. Also it is very nice to see that while other historical monuments in the area are lying there completely neglected, this museum and its dedicated staff take care and pride of the history they help...

We were the only 2 in the museum at the time so we had a lovely quiet peaceful wander around. The artefacts are amazing, the statues and grave steles were incredible and being able to fully absorb all the details in such a quiet, well lit, open plan museum was perfect, the staff we dealt with were helpful, polite and friendly. Getting here can be a bit tricky, as the transport is awkward and the museum sits somewhat in the middle of nowhere. That said, the setting is peaceful, and it makes for a nice stop if you’re already exploring the Marathon region.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. If you’re interested in history and want a quieter, more intimate museum visit, this is a...
