Read moreI just visited this wonderful house and the paintings were temporarily moved to the Benaki museum, as the house was under reconstruction. I enjoyed the exhibit of his photos of the studio and the models, side by side with the final painting - which he didn't create from the photo. It was wonderful to see the creative process and how he would change the shapes and colours in order to build a stronger composition. But the best of the museum was the wonderful time that Vasso Tzouti spent, explaining to me some fascinating insights into Tsarouchis' art. The home (and studio) of Tsarouchis, which now serves as a museum of his works, suffers from being a somewhat graceless construction (Tsarouchis himself was not pleased with it), while its cramped plot of land is closely flanked by the most boring of residential apartment buildings.
