Definitely a experience that is a must/worthwhile experience. If you find yourself In Messolonghi. Beautiful place like the rest of the town. Great options of merch and Salt related soap and so on that you could buy. The quality was REALLY HIGH. As of my experience. Really recommend buying some. ESPECIALLY the soap bars! Worth every penny.

There's free parking available there. Atleast when I was there.

The museum experience is really good and not long too. They also have English audio version of the tour. But if your the only one there you could ask the person there to do the tour in English. Don't know if they will or can do it though. But always worth a shot.

Outside area is really great. A lookout spot. A beautiful place to sit and relax by the sea. As you can see from my pics. And a really cool and...

A hidden gem! We had the privilege to meet the owner, who kindly gave us a tour. He is passionate and he has organized a small, but comprehensive museum about salt. He didn't just introduced us to the history of Messologi's salt industry. Actually, he introduced us to the history of salt, it's importance for the life, he provided glimpses about the connection of salt with art and religion. They exhibit more than thousand of salt shakers! Some of them are pieces of art. The surroundings are well worth your time, if you are into photography. The landscape is not different than other salines. However, it's the biggest saline of Greece and Messologi provides a unique landscape. Highly...

The first thematic salt museum in Greece!! Super well located and amazingly presented!!! Definitely it’s one of the top attractions of the city, both for adults and kids too!! The staff was super friendly, very polite and well informed about the history of the salt in Messolonghi and not only !!we were lucky to arrive just on time for the tour that was just starting and of course were impressed to find out the importance of salt but also to see more than 1000 salt shakers !!! It’s worth visiting !!Kids are looking forward to come again soon!! Thank you all for your kind...

If you are in the region, you should stop by this very nice museum, located in a storied building on a historic seashore. The museum chronicles the history of salt and its production, from Ancient times to modern industrial scales. You'll be sure to learn something new about this essential part of our diets, our daily lives, and history. The museum also features an impressive collection of salt and pepper shakers, from elegant to whimsical. The gift shop also has a nice collection of books and souvenirs.

One of the places, one must definitely pay a visit to, when in Mesolongi! This little museum, one out of 3 in the whole of Europe, is very well put together, and in the very affordable ticket price, the visitors also get a guided tour! The gift shop at the end of the tour is stocked with quite a few unique mementos, such as special salt varieties ,and the surrounding area definitely had a unique beauty about it, for the visitor to enjoy!
