Dear visitors, Is speleology a joke to you? Please respect people who work at a place as unique as this! If they ask you to not touch the cave’s interior then simply just don’t touch! I witnessed a family with a misbehaving child and a not a prominent father who were both touching the cave ceiling with their fingers. But the mother went further by creating a scandal of it and blaming the guide on it. This happened after the guide asked them to stop touching the walls. She went even further and made up a story that her child were just leaning the walls which is funny because there is no way to lean the walls standing on a special platform. You can find this as a negative review prior to my comment. The overall excursion was ruined by this family and the mother didn’t stop on this but lied in the reviews blaming the guide who was totally right and correct.
Shame on you Valentina (mother of misbehaving child), go to the doctor and heal your mental health! Don’t lie again and face the truth.
All in all, the cave is really cool and worth visiting even after the...
Read moreThe cave itself was great. However when we arrived there was a hoard of children (they could be like 10-13 years old) threatening us to destroy the car. They were carrying stones and sticks. At first we just ignored them but at some point they started trying to open the doors (which were still auto-locked). At that point we decided to leave that spot and went to the closest point to the restaurant we found and told the owner what happened. They seemed to know the children and said will take care of it. Since the car was rented and had a full insurance, we decided to YOLO it, took photos of the car just in case and joined the tour. At the end they did not damage anything. Nevertheless I think this behavior is socially unacceptable and the cave doesn't...
Read moreThe drive to these caves was so incredibly scenic. I took my 2 kids along from Hersonissos with a rental car and my god was the drive epic! Arriving at the Cave you are greeted by very friendly staff. You usually have to wait a couple of minutes for the tour to start (around 15min). The shop has a small cafe with a very beautiful view over the mountains. It offered some refreshments for a reasonable price. The cave tour took around 40min. Our tour guide was very friendly and he had a lot of interesting information regarding the exploration of the cave. Unfortunately some tourists kept touching the stalagmites. Please people, do not touch these so that other generations will also be able to...
