Βοτανικός Κήπος Ζέλιος Γη — Attraction in Municipality of Nafpaktia

This was a revelation to me! I happened to see it on the map and it was very close to where I stayed, so I decided to go check it out yesterday (on April 19, 2025). It is just 20 min drive north of Nafpaktos.

It is a wonderful place, very well curated, perfect for nature lovers and families with kids. It is amazingly beautiful, there is a great variety of all kinds of plants, trees, medical herbs and flowers from across the world.

There are guided tours (included in the ticket price) and lots of different footpaths to follow if you wish to explore the place. It is also hone to a number of dwarf goats and dama dama deers, which one can also feed under supervision. It is a natural paradise, born out of the love of the land owner for nature!

What's more, there is a recreation area with a coffee shop and tables to sit and relax, listening to the murmur of water running from artificial springs, and enjoying the magnificent view.

I found out that in summertime they organize lots of different activities like eg. concerts, star gazing evenings, theater and more, while there are quite a few laboratory activities for adults or kids, like eg pottery lessons, planting, educational games, etc.

Beautiful botanical garden and a treasure. Situated in a beautiful serene environment the botanical garden is a work of love. Very well accessible and beautifully maintained the vast collection of flowers, plants and trees are a truly charming place to wander around. Also very nice to take wedding pictures and have small celebrations. Clean bathrooms and a small shop with local products. If you ate looking for a calm and beautiful place to relax come take a stroll in the garden and all your worries...

Μαγευτικός κήπος με καταπληκτικές συλλογές φυτών και δέντρων. Η έκθεση είναι υψηλής αρχιτεκτονικής και η διαρρύθμιση και τα εμπλουτισμένα με μικρά και μεγάλα αγάλματα τοπία και μονοπάτια προσφέρουν μια συναρπαστική διαδρομή, ανάμεσα σε θεματικούς κήπους με εκατοντάδες καταγεγραμμένα είδη φυτών και δέντρων, έναν πύργο κατασκευασμένο από φιάλες (!) και ένα αρχαίο στάδιο, καταλήγοντας στη φάρμα ελαφιών και κατσικιών νάνων, αγαπημένη ατραξιόν μικρών και μεγάλων, όπου μπορείτε να ταίσετε τα αξιαγάπητα ζώα από το χέρι σας! Ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος είναι η συλλογή και καλλιέργεια των βοτάνων, όπου ο chef Βαγγέλης Μαργαρίτης μας έκανε μια εμπεριστατωμένη και διασκεδαστική ξενάγηση όπου μας εξήγησε αναλυτικά την προέλευση, την ιστορία καθώς και τις ιδιότητες του κάθε είδους. Η οργάνωση και οι παρεχόμενες υπηρεσίες είναι υψηλού επιπέδου και ο άριστος επαγγελματισμός του προσωπικού προσφέρει μια καταπληκτική και κατατοπιστικότατη ξενάγηση. Στο gift shop βρίσκει κανείς αναμνηστικά μα και αποξηραμένα ευεργετικά βότανα σε πολυ καλές τιμές και η καφετέρια προσφέρεται για καφέ και σνακ. Προσωπικά, ανακαλύψαμε το μέρος τυχαία, κατά τον παραθερισμό μας στην περιοχή, και η επίσκεψή μας και ολόκληρη η ξενάγηση που διαρκεί περίπου μια ώρα αποτέλεσε μια από τις πιο ευχάριστες εκπλήξεις και εμπειρίες της...
